Hey Family,
I miss yall.  That is first and foremost.  Secondly, I need a favor.  I have been doing this spokenword/performance poetry thing as a job on and off since 05 and there is an increasing number of folks who are also making their livings as professional performance poets.  There is no reason we don't have some sort of directory or resource guide that serves as a place for us to share vital information about this crazy ass job we have. Well rather than complaining that no one has created this yet, I AM GOING TO CREATE IT!  But I need your help.  I am not sure what all info will go in this guide but I think it should start with at least a list of the folks we know who are doing this as a job.  So here is what I need from you:
1. If you are a full time performance poet. Your contact info: i.e. 
Full Name & Stage Name,
city and state of primary residence(where you send your mail and where your underwear rest)
phone number(optional)
email address
website or webpage ( promotional. where folks can see your work)
2. If you know a full-time performance poet , send me there name and an email address for them so I can ask if they would like to be included in this directory.

I know the term full-time performance poet can be fuzzy but here is my definition:
Any person who makes 3/4 of their annual income from performing their poems at schools, clubs, bars, slams, festivals or any other venue that showcases artists. They also don't have to be in the slam community, folks like Talaam Acey count. 
If you just have the name of someone you think should be on this list send me their name and I can probably find them.  Ultimately this will help venues and slam promoters as well. 
Down the line I am thinking big shit like INSURANCE and 501k's and stuff but for now I am just wanting to get started.
