Jamie Laboz
The Green Album
Zobal Global
Being equally at home on every instrument (with the exception of drums), Laboz begins recording these 11 songs in his very home where the dominating element is a psychedelic aura that can be felt throughout every song.
From the wild pieces ("The Darkness", "Flying Into The Sun" and "People of the Burning Sun") to the Baby Woodrose garage sound-alike ("Mr. Jones") and to softer psychedelic tunes ("The Joint" and "The Inner Light"), where the sitar is suspended in depth, one gets the feeling that all these different sounds have one common denominator: traces from the 60s psychedelic music scene, yet through a sound which can hardly be branded a mere "revival".
I left the best song of this concept album for last - the fascinating and extraordinary "Look to the Ocean" with it’s "Strange Days" sound-alike intro. An outstanding piece where the organ’s psychedelic sound, coupled with the guitar, makes it the best song of all time. Super! - George Markou
