DAVE HOUSE
INTERSECTIONS
(Banquet)
Passionate and sincere guitar pop on London singer/songwriter’s shimmering third solo album.
4/5
Recording and producing all of his refreshingly honest DIY music and
influenced by the likes of The Weakerthans and The Postal Service,
‘Intersections’ is a stunning labour of love, with each track an
intimate and poignant 3-minute story. From upbeat, catchy tunes such as
first single and opener ‘Lungs’ and the story of travelling the US on
tour with his hardcore punk band The Steal on ‘60 Blocks Up’, to the
energetic ‘Runaground’ and feeling disillusioned on ‘Follow Me’ and
‘Make An Example’, this is Dave’s finest album to date. With ‘Born
Steady’ the only song that isn’t full band, this is a full-sounding
guitar pop/indie rock. You’ll be singing these songs all summer.
