Who Gives Kudos:

Tuesday, April 24, 2007
There are a LOT of photos and it might take a while for them to load. So go get something to drink and come back to this page in a minute or two.

THANKS to everyone who came out to the show. The turnout was terrific and the show was fabulous! Read these comments that I recently received:

"Hey. I thought the fashion show was AMAZING!! I loved it. It was something different and new for everyone. The crowd was great."

"IT WAS FANTASTIC!! i've heard that from eveyone i've talked to about it."

"That was the most crowded I have seen Lucky Strike since it opened."

Some of the best feedback came from the clothing stores, because they do a lot of shows and have other models and venues to compare it to. Check out these emails I got:

"Jacob-- Thank you for such a great event! We LOVED it!!!! You did a fabulous job and I thought the venue was unique and fun! We really appreciate being involved--it was awesome! Thanks again—Tara" (girltalk)

"I checked in the clothes from the show yesterday and I didn't find any problems with anything, which is really nice. Everything seemed to go very smoothly and I look forward to working with you in the future! Thank you, Brittany" (General Eccentric)

"I really appreciate the organization and cooperation of all the models as far as wearing the outfits picked for them and taking care of the items afterwards. Often times when we participate in fashion shows like this the models come out wearing something completely different or in a different way than we laid out for them. For the most part I was very pleased with the way Spree was represented in this show. We all had a great time, everything seemed to be pretty well organized and I think it was a success! Thanks for including us! Sara" (Spree)

Best of all, we packed the house with NO help from any other publications in town. While I submitted our event to both Velocity and LEO, Velocity edited out "Louisville NiteLife Magazine" and simply printed "Spring Fashion Show at Lucky Strike" and mentioned some of the clothing stores. LEO didn't print anything at all. In the current issue, neither covered the event, but instead Velocity's Party Crasher posted images from a Pulp Fiction themed party at Glassworks. While some of the attendees looked good in costumes, the photos make it evident that there was a lot of empty space and not a lot of people. During our show when I was running from the dressing room to the DJ booth, I couldn't even get through the crowd of people. This just goes to show that the ad in the magazine and our other promotional work was very effective at drawing people in without the help of Velocity or LEO.

You ladies did a WONDERFUL JOB!!! The crowd was obviously impressed and everyone was complimentary after the show. I owe you all a HUGE THANK YOU because you put in a LOT of time practicing, going to the fittings and the show itself. The best part for me was waiting in the hallway at the end and seeing all your happy faces after the show.

Speaking of THANKS, everyone let Kayte know what a great job she and her crew did on the makeup and hair! Next time you have a big party, wedding or event, call Kayte and ask her to do your make up. Be sure to refer her to all your friends too.

THANKS also to Tracy for working the door and all the LNL girls who worked the party! A big Thanks for Toby, Ann, Mark, Bambi and all the other LNL staff. And be sure to visit Lucky Strike for bowling, sports and drinks and tell the staff that your best time there was for the Fashion Show. Also THANKS to James Eaton who helped with the walking practice, setting up the lights and was one of the photographers! PLUS DJ Boom who did the music! There are many more people to thank, but last time I wrote one of these, I got a reply that said I sounded like an acceptance speech at the Academy Awards. But when you watch the videos of the show, I feel like we deserve one!

Anyway, here are some of the photos. These images are divided by store, not by model. Photos are by Danny & Jessica and Chris Reynolds.
