25.Rapture Rukus ( New Zealand)- At World's END RR's latest
release surely was one we saw around in
the requests on myspace and discussion boards ( not many in Ireland) the thing
with it was that you just couldn't get it in Europe. No distributor had it for
us. Its Rap/ Rock flavour was what interests us the most as every year he seems
to headline one the worlds biggest Gospel events the parachute Festival. The
few copies we had certainly got scooped after introducing them to fellow Gospel
Music lovers who are into their Rock and love
a bit of Rap! One things for sure we will be looking to establish his ministry
more evidently in ....Ireland....

24. Kdrama- ..BOOM.. BAPTISM-
Just released- after following kdrama for over 2 years and telling people about
him as we always do it was good to finally get the opportunity to promote his
album and will be reviewing it as soon as we get it into our online store. If
you haven't heard Air Jordans you not a
holy hiphop fan. The hype on it is good too. Anything that makes Wade 'O' show
is big. They say "Hip Hop is Dead?" k-Drama's 5th release,
BoomBaptism, is a direct retort to this question successively circulating
today. BoomBaptism, according to k-Drama is, "the rebirth of creativity in
Rap music." He believes it's not too late for rap music to be resuscitated
and submitted to the Lord. This album inspires listeners to have confidence in
the gift God has given them. "I'm encouraging listeners to seek God, not
the world, for ideas to apply to their ministries," explains k-Drama,
"God is limitless!" What we have heard so far makes us put this
release at no 24 as we are sure to be talking about it for the whole year. Go

& Consequences- Rap for the deep lyricists, the value of what Christian
hiphoper should be in this ailing world. Phanatiks Lp was just profoundly a Christian
living/lifestyle release with focus on what to do . what it mean as a holy
hiphoper. The single and video show em off out in may was what got us into him
and feeling like the truth in hiphop can be only found in holy hiphop as the
truth is found in Christ fully without any sin. Phanatik's sophomore album

22. Grits- Reiterate - Back again with a new release Coffee
and Bonafide with another club bangin album. I lost count of their albums as it
seems they one out every year now! but you got to agree they still got it and
still make you appreciate the depth of their relevance on this generation. This
album sold out in our store and we are very very happy about that. The
production on it was amazing and without any doubt i know it may neot been
their best but it was overall a good album. The album features Marthat Munizi
and the very soulful Dan Haseltine.....you can listen to the popular songs on
their myspace. Everytime they relase something at this stage they raise the bar

21.Flame- OUR WORLD REDEEMED - when joyful noise hit
youtube, mysapce, radio, and all gospel related media i knew this was going To
be one of the most dynamic releases this year. yes Flame did it again. An album
with a 100% holy hiphop classic i will play that song10 years form now and
remember this year. I mean thats why he did the song thanks a few days ago! and his tour dates never seem
to end. WONDER IF HE WILL MAKE ....IRELAND....?
I don’t think they're ready! the tracks where just the kind you would play out
loud that Jesus music that makes you nod over and over again. any praise party
or DJ would know that this was a dance floor filler album. A Album to get Buck
too for sure. That’s why we know we couldn’t
miss him in our top 25. Above it all the message in the album was of great
importance. OUR world redeemed focuses on the world today and calls out the Christian

the best album in Urban gospel by far from the ....UK.....
We highly recommend the album and
personally i got into dwayne tryumf when he featured on lacraes labum.
then when i looked for his material and found I don’t pack a matic well the
rest is history. here we are and we truly believe that this young mand and all
he has sowed is coming to fruition. All the sky news interviews standing up for
righteousness and against gun crime. Kinda feels like we got into his ministry
late but when i did search for his material his fruits then i understood why
Mark of the peace is just so relevant in ..Europe.. and I
hope it does do better than it is now! I mean considering the growth of hiphop
in general in the ....UK....
it was good to hear something that i felt so proud to consider as the best from

..Kingdom.... Come- One of the worlds Biggest gospel Artists and returned
once again with her wisdom, strength which she has provided over the years. We will always be found marvelling track by
track as she releases each album but I got to say this was a different album.
Tracks like waging war were very dominant all year through on the internet even
on youtube. I mean Cece has a huge fan base even here in ....Ireland.....
Definitely she is an artist I hope to see live for the first time ever. She is
approaching the 10 album as this was her eighth biggest problem we had when it
was released like some of the albums on our list is the marketing and
distribution. It was hard enough to get a copy. You had to get from Amazon and eBay.
As usual new worship songs and traditional gospel could not be left out of the
album. The album gave a good mixture that no other artist can do of modern
gospel and traditional gospel sprinkled by good worship songs that I am sure
every choir director that has the album will get their choir to sing. Yes ..CECE..
did it again and that why she is our number 17. No one can deny she as a role
model to so many young girls and a Gospel Music Icon.

16. Marvin Sapp- Thirsty( 2007)- we placed this on our list as
....Ireland.... caught
on late and as far as we are concerned hasn’t caught the Marvin Sapp album.
This album is an essential collection and if you still don’t have it I tell you
this was his year! All the awards, 6 weeks on top of the billboard and who can
deny the power in the single ‘ Never would have made it” If it were my choice
this would be my life soundtrack. After years of following Marvin Sapp this was
by far the moment when I could stand and say I could see the greatness of
the Lord in him. That one song had rappers in tears and R&B icons in
shivers ,live at the ..BET.. awards. He earned
the artist of the year at it. Won the best song at Dove awards . I mean this
was his year. I* I am going to listen to that song for about the 1000th
time right now!* nah but its worth our 16. Even if it is a 2007 release. The
fact is it impacted 2008 so much we could not let it slip out of our top 25.

15. Deitrick Haddon- Revealed- yes of course this was an amazing album. The
production was amazing. Songs like One Blood, Love him like I do ( which was a
huge single ft. Mary Mary and Rueben Studdar) and I’m Alive are instant classics
on this one. After 7 days you would have thought he had reached his peak but
with his Modern approach on this album no wonder he has received so many
nominations . there is not an award ceremony which include the Bet’s , Stellar’s,
Dove that you wont notice his nominations. This was of course one of the most
anticipated albums of the year especially after the huge hit love him like I do. One Blood is a track that
we love so much and I do hope he releases it as a single. I can say safely that
all our preorders sold out in the GMI store so we know that they are people who
got this album.

14. Trip lee- 20/20- What kind of vision do you have. Do you
see through the flesh or spirit. Trip lees album was what the 116 click do
best. A direct reality check to Christian folks. Vision has many dynamics.
Vision gives us the capability to see objects. It can help guide a lost man
down unfamiliar surroundings. It can even turn a blank canvas into a
masterpiece. The Scriptures communicate that 'Without vision, people perish'.
Any sensible human can comprehend how vision is important. As inhabitants of
earth how do we envision life? As people, we are all responsible to see life
through the proper perspective. But first we must see our Creator for who He
is…… An album focused on the message and in the end is food enough to make want more . Trip lee has
a sharp flow that is unique and his messages in his songs just give you more
than what you bargained for . I want more form him and it was just good to hear
this album. This is definitely an album that shows us that’s its not all about
beats, flow and rhymes….holy hiphop is deeper than that….’ If you looking for

10.Corey Red- I am Legend (mixtape)- The new Yorker came back
with a sharp raising mixtape that most would consider very controversial but
that’s Corey Red for you. As usual he
gets personal in this mixtape….’a gospel artists in exile’. Corey is 39 and
still flowing and he is not going to stop. His attack of street mentality,
thugs, drugs, immorality never seizes to amaze us. He went political too on
this as ....America....
was going through elections. What I like about this mixtape is his haste to not be afraid to say and touch on certain issues like someone
ready to die and has nothing to lose and so is not afraid to be honest even if
it means losing his dignity. One thing you realise after listening to this
mixtape and also his last mixtape and crashing the party his album, you realise
that he is in pain. This is guy who has been through a lot and his pain is
about success as he gets through to most
by internet and feels crashed out by the Church…I don’t know you really cant
say what’s the pain. Let me tell you something about Corey red in 2007 he came
to Ireland with no payment….after being refused in the UK he flew the next day
to Ireland with no honorarium and those three days he gave the gospel the way
that he can. Not many artists do that for us here. With kind of love we sure
did take listen to his music as he is one we know personally. I mean we talking
to a revered Gospel rapper. Been around more than 10 years but he was so humble
he slept not in a hotel those days but in someones house. You can’t get that
these days even in recession.

9. Braille- The IV-
Yes one of the hardest working guys in Urban gospel dropped a album that had
highly anticipated songs like Blessed man, humility song and the single the IV
( watch the video). I remember in 2007 he did that song in sercular venues here in ....Ireland....
and people who haven’t heard of Jesus felt it and sang along. That’s the impact
he has even here in Ireland and when his album dropped we were more than happy
to let his fans know most who are not Christians. A pure Gospel Album that is
impacting lives. He is our number 9 cause he is one of kind and we pray that
choice cuts ( a sercular promotional company) bring him and theory hazit again soon. In the hiphop world in general
and in what they call underground, his label ‘Hiphop Is Music’, which has a collection of amazing Gospel rappers,
stands out as one of the few that even the sercular music know is a very talented
collection of artists. He has managed to accomplish what every Gospel rapper
wants to do .. that is to reach beyond the church but save souls through their
music. After 12 years this was the year that even the Holy hiphop awards
recognised Braille. The IV was a lyrical accomplishment that has definite artistic
rhymes. That underground touch to it feeds the artistic thirst that hiphop has at the moment…but
the power in the message what makes it different form conscience rap as they
call it. Its got God in it. And yes of course he has another album coming out
in March 2009. do look out for that one too. A Hard working dude for sure!

8. Manafest- Citizen Activ—its July 26th and the
Redeemed event is packed with teenagers who have been told that a skateborder
from Canada has been humble enough to come to Ireland and give to them the
Gospel in way that they gonna love and is modern. On that night Manafest is
very tired as the headline after flying in that morning on his European tour. He
has waited more than 10 hours to get on stage and Rock the crowd at one of 2008’s
biggest teenage events. Its 3am and he is tired… and will be flying out in the
next 2hrs. He dedicated to the cause….its not a skateboard/rock crowd its more
like American southern style hiphop crowd. Its Manafests second visit with GMI
to ....Ireland..... He gets
on stage and firstly the crowd is paying
attention and just nodding and don’t go on the get up buck like they had being doing
all day *this was a very live crowd* then after bounce…Manafest drops 4321 and it’s
a go …they get into it. And he rocks the crowd….he tells them on every song the
Gospel. Songs from his latest album like
So Beautiful just capture the essence of the event *titled- Behold the lamb*. No
one except us knew that he was tried and he does his calling for the night and
rushes straight to the hotel for a shower and heads straight to the airport at ..5am.. for another show in ....London....
at ..12pm... See that’s the relationship he
has with ....Ireland...., pure dedication and willing to make a
difference. He might even have a collab with one guy from ....Ireland....
we shall not mention till its done. Citizen active is defiantly an upgrade form
his last album GLORY and he just makes you appreciate God and what he is doing
for our generation through guys like him. Definitely the Best album we have heard from anything form ....Canada.....
A true missionary in manifest makes it very much an album that we know and can
proudly be our number 8. I hear even ....Japan....
cant get enough of this album. Manafest Rocks yo! You do know he is defiantly back

5.Mary Mary- THE Sound_ it had some critics but ooooh weee
what an album. Now that’s why they are so huge. Mary Mary just elevate it like
no other. You can get buck to this album and yet you can also just worship got.
One of those album that just grows on
you. Don’t mind the controversial David banner collaboration….the sound had a
mint production team and I tell this is a statement they made. They took a bold
move in very where and it worked. Songs like ‘Get Up’, the title track ‘the
sound’ and ‘God In me’ just are songs that radio has to play.Then when they do
slow it down you find you self still hyped when songs ‘running’ and ‘forgiven
me’. I loved it when it went 70’s on ‘....seattle....’.
The album had good production and depth something hard to accomplish in trying
to capture a generation. When it slipped into the worship part it was already
an album that made thanksgiving a special moment. Mary Mary are classic and the
album is a reflection of how strong Gospel Music is in the World. Its different
this time as they are both mother and the Campbell sisters are sure pushing for
their childrens generations to find a touch of God in music. When you hear Mary
Mary’s new album you know God is present in this generation.

4. Ambassador- The Chop Chop- oh yes Lord, thank you for the
ambassador. He breaks down the reality of actually getting into the word of God
in Gospel rap in this album and the hype on this one was huge.Amabassador came
back after the retirement of Cross Movement. The single gimme dat was ear
catcher you hear it and know that it’s a done deal. He gives it hard for the
streets and even when his son features on it he shows he is concerned as always
about touching this hiphop generation. The Chop Chop – from Milk to meat was
defiantly an album we highlighted as one for folks to get. We all felt like he
did it agin when he droped the video premier on December 16th and we
know that this album will be a dynamic source for various youth groups . We
hope that in ....Ireland....
as they are already doing they get that it’s the lifestyle that Amabassador focuses
on this album that they hold on to. A Christ like lifestyle.one thing though
will Amabassadior come to ....Ireland....

as missionary got involved with GMi and form there well now he has an album
that is very popular in ....Ireland.....
The American born native who moved here with his wife and boy did they do some
work in ....Ireland.....
Sadly they had to leave after the album dropped hopefully not for good. But all

in a country town called Tullamore and produced by Chris kabs. The album was

2. Canton Jones-Kingdom Business- come on….its a new day and
canton jones continues to be our favourite guy. Remember when we went around
promoting haters day! What a year! From the get go with album there was
excitement. His production is just off the radar man. Makes you so proud to be
living and loving Gospel music. Canton Jones new album was just a huge deal for
us and made difference. with tracks like 24-7, the professional, living clean you were shown
how righteousness pays off. Then we went onto kingdom business with tracks like
haters days, I wont stop, Pimp hard…songs that clarify working for the lord and
not yourself….you can pimp hard but nah you can pimp God. The impeccable flow
and touch of this album was hot! Tracks like ‘what you want make you want to
get just one moment to be in a Canton Jones concert and be a part of the Cajo
experience. Its Gospel, you always have to say that to friends who are shocked
at the quality that stands out. ‘ We taking over kingdom’ every time we play it
to folks and all Glory is given to God. Yes we are fans but you know we have a
reason at GMI why we are cause even his myspace just keeps oozing with new
tracks that are just ..HOTT... He keeps us going
every time and as an artist he gave us what we needed when we wanted to launch

REBEL- our number 1 release of the year at Gospel Music ....Ireland.....
Oh my! Oh My! Rebel even before it dropped hiphop everywhere was oozing
and buzzing on this one. He ignited youths so much with this release to stand
and have Christ resurrected, I remember people asking me if we were
selling any t-shirts of the album. That catch phrase ‘..ARE..
You A Rebel’ was just something that would get attention in an instant. I
mean folks went mad for this one. Non-Christians wanted to check what the
fuss was about. It was good. It touched and hit home with the message
about living for Christ and not to be ashamed of the Gospel. What a shake1 we still have requests for the
album and we didn’t even stock it or sell still waiting on the distributor
but folks here in ....Ireland....
went on i-tunes, Amazon…and they went to get it. The hype after the track
with Flame ‘Joyful noise’ and trip lee’s album and their UK Unashamed tour
it was set to be the Biggest album in 2008 in urban gospel. We ran around
for this one cause yes, it was that kind of album that you’d make sercular
media feel like they are truly missing on the album.If you haven’t got it
