Who Gives Kudos:

Saturday, December 01, 2007
It's now nearing the end of 2007.
Wheatstone Bridge, I suppose as it looks now, is on permanent hiatus.
I would love to record and release our catalog of music we amassed over our few years of exsistence, but so far that has proven too overwhelming of a prospect to record it, just for the sake of recording it.
However, if I knew that enough people out there really wanted to hear it in some sort of finalized form, I would consider doing it.
It would have to be a double album to be able to include all that there is.
Any support out there??
Gene Eric Mann

Wazzup?!

You do it, I'll buy it.

Hail General Zod and Rock on!

Wheatstone Bridge

Mention 'Rush' to pretty much anyone who is not a fan, but familiar with their music, and they can usually name 2 out of 3 members: Neil Peart & Geddy Lee.

Seems the same goes for Wheatstone Bridge as well: Ernie Planck & John Taylor

Oh well, such is life.

To be honest, I didn't really give a flip about Alex Lifeson either, until I started trying to play his guitar parts. Then I recognized the subtle genius in what he was doing.

Maybe someday someone will think of Wheatstone Bridge in the same way. ;)

Just to clarify a few things for the reader, let me make mention of the following:

1. I can only loosely be considered a founding member of WB. Dave founded this project. I joined later in its' formative years, circa 1995 or thereabouts.

2. The music we made in those early years wasn't quite so complex, but the more complex ideas were Dave's. I just expanded on them and they snowballed. Without Dave's ideas, the music then wouldn't have been NEARLY so complex, laying the basis for later music which would be what we were known for.

3. To replace Dave with another guitarist would have been the literal end of Wheatstone Bridge. Dave deserves as much recognition as Ernie and I got/are getting(?). Without Dave's musical ideas and knowledge, we would have been just another band instead of the prog legends we are today.

4. Irregardless of the raw seething hatred I feel for Dave, lol...I haven't worked with a better guitarist in a long musical history.

why not release something for the hardcore fans (me!), such as a cd of practice moments, and a live cd? or demos? i would deeply dig that sort of thing!

I found your demos on soundclick years ago and still listen to them. I always check back for new recordings, but still find the application series. If you have more material please consider recording it.
