The new album is about 60% complete and like the previous 2 Apell albums the style of music from track to track varies. This album will feature more vocals and "songs" than the previous albums and it will feature guest vocalists and musicians. So far the tracks include:
Dubya
Bass heavy dub track with conga samples, strings, wah-wah guitars, filtered bass solos and featuring vocals by Jason Demillo. A tribute to the man in charge.
So You Know
Funky slap bass song with a driving groove again featuring vocals by Jason Demillo. The song is about getting it all together .
Silly Cyclist
Drum'n'Bass groove featuring slap bass and some crafty drum programming . About as Squarepusher as I can get. You can hear this one on my profile page.
Don't Let it Bring You Down
A cover of the Neil Young song from After The Goldrush done al a drum'n'bass featuring filtered bass guitars and synths and vocals by Rachael Hawkins.
Long Long Long
Cover of George Harrisons tune from The Beatles White album. Done in an ambient style ala Air / Radiohead with multilayered filtered vocals.
The Fifthy Loops
This piece of music was performed as part of the Clan Analogue Vs. Re-sound performance at Getrudes in Fitzroy back in August 2006. This version will feature saxophones and backwards guitars over trip-hop styled beats.
There will be several more tracks that are currently works in progress. I will do another update as more work is completed in my warm Melbourne Studio as ts freezing down here at this time of year!
