THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME ALONG MONDAY NIGHT FOR OUR SINGLE RELEASE PARTY!!! IT WAS QUITE AN EVENING.

i truly enjoyed the other night, except for the sound problems during h bird's set (all apologies for screwing up "violet"; i couldn't hear). but the new pop revolution (pocket edition) [i have yet to mentioned how i love that title, it goes well with the well-read image of h bird]. everyone was really ace. the jonny cola rendition of "teenage dirtbag" ("listen to e-ray-sure baby") has been stuck in my head all day. the night really started off strong. their hearts were full of spring (formerly the bleeding hearts) really write ace pop songs. there was something quite charming about david barnett's out of tune guitar for the boyfriends' song ("punk rawk" as rob luxembourg put it) but once it was tuned "close cropped" was much better. jamie vichy and martin white's (original) song was quite good, and i'm not sure i'll ever be able to hear gary numan the same again once i've heard it with the accordian. david shah's solo songs (no one had any idea what he was going to be doing) are just lovely, i thoroughly enjoyed them! during the first one ian catt leaned over to me and said "someone should get these to marc almond". then dickon and charley stone performed the fosca classic "file under forsaken". excellent. brought back memories of how much we used to listen to fosca back in boston when the first record came out and scott p excitedly telling me when the "nervous, london" e.p. came into cd spins and hooking me up with it for i think a cd of my own stuff. then harvey played 3 songs (i got to roadie ; ) ). but seriously, this meant a lot to me because the another sunny day "what's happened?" 7" was the first thing i ever bought on sarah records when i was 18 at brass city records in waterbury, ct and opened me up to whole other world of music, and i was very happy that 12 years later, having never seen him play before, he performed at my single release party. then the h bird set:
