Current mood:  accomplished

We wanted to write a song that was both powerful and real.  So the idea of "Price of Sin" came to me about 4 years ago, not as a song but as a movie.

The story is being told by a man in jail who commited a great crime.

(lyrics) "How can i sleep those endless nights, knowing what i did was wrong.  How can i see your face each day, it was me who brought you all that pain."

The first lyric the man is speaking about shows his remorse of the crime he commited, but what he says next might seem confusing.

"But I know, more pain that you will ever know."

The story now goes back in time, the man is in prison for a reason, but why is he in prison? Well this man meets a beautil young woman at a bar, buys her drinks and have a good conversation, you can say they hit it off.  One thing leads to another and they sleep together or they have a one night stand.  When he wakes up in the morning shes gone, but he feels that there was a real connection there, so he begins to look for her.  Weeks go by  and he still thinks about her, he goes to the same bar everyday hoping to find her.  One day at a store he sees her and he get so happy that he drops everything to talk to her.  He asks how shes been? Why she has not gone by the bar? whats your number so we can get together?  At this point the woman gets a little weirded out so she tells him that she cant really talk right now, so he persist with more question.  She screams to get over it, it was a one night thing and nothing more, also that it was a mistake.  And leaves him there in shock.  Well this does not sit well with him so he follow her home, as he hides behind a tree near by he discovers the truth behind it all.  As she parks her car in the drive way her front door opens and a man well dressed comes out, followed by a little girl.  She has a  family.

The chorus of the song depics what really happend after he sees her with her family.

(chorus) "I tried to stop my self, i thought this was what you wanted, im dieing inside.  I tried to make things right , i thought that you would understand, but im dieing inside."

the last pair of verses expains what he saw and how he felt.

(lyrics)  " I loved you more than life it self, but you simply didnt know.  You have a life and you have a home, but all i got from you was hurt."

"but why do you, make me do the things that i am about to do"

Filled with anger the man returns to his house and tears it apart, throwing furniture ripping walls and kicking doors in.  He stops for a moment to think of the wounderfull time they had together; the jokes the stories and the intimate moments they shared.  This makes him even more mad, "SHE FUCKEN LIED TO ME" as weeps out of anger.

what he does next is the heart of the chorus,  he grabs his gun and he goes to her house to confront her.  He gets there, he knocks and when the door opens he just looses it. " I tried to stop my self, i thought this was what you wanted"  that lyric explains what he does with out detail.  He shots the husband and the little girl and kills them.  "I tried to make things right, i thought that you would understand"  that lyric shows his weak mental state behind his reasoning of the whole murder. He believed that by killing her family he would now be able to have her. but his reason was just more than that, since he cant have her, she cant have anyone.

I hope you dont judge us by this song alone it was only a song depicting a victim of blinding love (the man in jail). WHY IS HE THE VICTIM you might ask? well he is the victim because the position he was put on, he was lied to and betrayed.  BUT IT WAS JUST ONE NIGHT FLING? you will be surprice how many people can fall in love in one night one moment in one minute, so his actions (though wrong) were driven by love.

The person that has to live with all the pain is the beautiful woman, but she brought that upon her self.  Her actions, her "sins" is what unfolded the events that you just read.  The "Price of her sin" will be with her for ever.  People that have one night stand think that no one will get hurt.  But something that is more mysterious in life is human emotion, and some people are driven by that.  But in this story there is no happy ending, only a moral.  And the moral of the story is;  if you are willing to commit the sins of your actions, be prepared to pay the price.
