Hey Twangsters,

It all started when the only date my band, go go dancers and club could agree on was April 15th. At first I was pretty disappointed cause it seemed like such a depressing night for MOD NIGHT- A GO GO! I sort of blurted out, "Well, then I'm gonna make a dress out of tax forms and sing in it." That's how this wacky dress started- I wasn't gonna let a little thing like my never having made a dress before stop me.

and here's the dress form (sewing mannequin) I made by having my husband wrap me in duct tape and cutting me out of it.

The dress is completely made out of basic paper tax forms, tape and glue. I sketched out a whole lot of ideas for a couple weeks but the actual construction took about a month. .... not non stop, I had to take a lot of breaks cause it was driving me CRAZY! I guess if I had to make it again-now that I've figured out how to make a bra out of paper- I could do it in half that time.. but it still would take a long time to wait for glue to dry. ha
The back of the dress doesn't look as good as the front cause I wasn't able to really finesse the way it closes. I've got a week until I'll be wearing on stage so I may try to fix it a bit.
