Whether it was comic books, distinguished literature, magazines or trashy novels, many of us had a reading phase when we were younger. We’d begrudgingly go to bed and turn off the lights like our parents told us to but that didn’t mean we actually slept! Once we were safe from any possible interruption, we’d dig out the flashlight we hid under our bed and dive into our current reading material.
Our parents never seemed to understand. They would yell at us for not getting enough sleep but how can you yell at a kid for reading?! We’d promise never to do it again and then we’d repeat the entire ritual all over again the next night… that is until the batteries in the flashlight ran out.
