Current mood:  calm

Just chillin with a glass of white - brokenwood 2002, very nice and just posting my day.

The day started well, thank you's before getting out of bed for the great day I had yesterday, my usual chinese massage start and then a killer porridge. Now many would think how could porridge be killer? The key is ginger. This balances out the blandness / fibre with a nice kick. I went sultana's, walnuts and coconut for a solid mix, but there is no doubt that blueberries are a little slice of heaven to chuck in there too... wasn;t to be this morning but it was still a great start to the day.

My mum and sister are over at the moment and its thrown the house into a little chaos - I'm quite enjoying the ride, but sharing space with family is always an interesting expedition...

I had feared that the shower was some such consequence but instead it was gorgeously hot and post breakfast reframed my day into one of unlimited potential.

I headed into town - a couple of jobs + a tentative plan to see Dublin. Mum and Annabel got stuck at the first hurdle, negotiating a tempting French Connection Store, and after a minute of contemplation, decided it was a signal to break away...

Nailed the bank, picked up the photos and most excitingly, locked Emma and my trip for October - India, Australia, Thailand. This was pretty cool... I have no idea what awaits us on this trip, but I do feel it has great energy and is going to be an awesome adventure.

Haven;t lost Anna and Mum about an hour and a half before, I was concerned about finding them again but put it out to the universe that I had found them and was so happy to find them again in the bustle of Dublin's city centre...

As I walked down to Powerscourt, I met them in the alley. Super sweet!

We kicked around and then headed back home for a quick lunch.

Then grabbed our clubs and headed to Carton House. This place is sweet. Our friend (legend.) hooked Anna up totally with one of the best golf training centres - quality practice balls, grass driving range, separate big putting and chipping greens.

This place was a golfers paradise and Ireland pulled off one of its great days - blue skies, big fluffy white clouds...

We started with some range work, then chipping and putting for about 2 hours. In such serene surroundings, it changed from practice into a meditation... when I got fully focused on the chip I hit them well, but if my attention strayed - it was messy!

After this, we met a friend of mine for a round on the Monty course - this is a tough bastard... I think I had lost a ball a hole for the first 9! It was calm and the sky was clear - perfect conditions for a great round!

Anna had done some major surgery on my swing - grip change + setup change and it felt absolutely wrong for about 5 hours... but the last 2 holes of the day it came together - 5iron, 9iron, 5iron, 7iron - all hit effortlessly with a gorgeous trajectory - I got my first par in a long time and was fist pumping for about 5mins with a massive smile!!

We headed up to the club house for a pint of black gold and picked up some wicked thai for dinner.

What a great day... so good and so much fun!
