Hey y'all,

Just a quick note to let y'all know that Country music artist Mark Chesnutt has recorded a song I co-wrote with M. Jason Greene and Cary Stone called "The Middle Man" for the movie "Noble Things". (The song will also be on the soundtrack!)

Here is one of the press releases:

altMARK CHESNUTT -- A NOBLE SINGER FOR NOBLE THINGS
NASHVILLE, Tennessee (March 16, 2009)--Mark Chesnutt (Lofton Creek Records), one of country music's finest music stylists, has been tapped to record two songs for the feature film "Noble Things."

"Noble Things" (an independent film produced by Noble Productions) has been three years in the making and stars Lee Ann Womack, Michael Parks, Ryan Hurst, Dominique Swain and Brett Moses.

The movie was filmed in various locations throughout southeast Texas including Austin and Beaumont and the filmmakers naturally selected the boy from Beaumont himself, Mark Chesnutt, to perform two tracks for the movie.

Mark recorded "The Middle Man" (Cary Stone/M. Jason Greene/Robert Frith) and "Is There A Fool Around" (Cary Stone/M. Jason Greene/Steve Waits) which appear in the movie and on the soundtrack. Songwriter Cary Stone, who is the co-writer on both songs, is also a member of Mark's band.  The songs were produced by Jimmy Ritchey (producer of Mark's vintage and famed ROLLIN' WITH THE FLOW and SAVIN' THE HONKY TONK).

"Noble Things" (co-written/directed by Brett Moses and Dan McMellen and produced by Brett Moses, Ruben Neubauer and Dan McMellen) ties together a story of love, loyalty, and what happens when painful secrets become too heavy to bear. Jimmy Wayne Collins (Brett Moses) is well on his way to becoming the next big country music star out of Blackwater, Texas. Jimmy and his older brother Kyle (Ryan Hurst), a rebel, are reared under the watchful eye of their father, local Sheriff, Pete Collins (Michael Parks) and his loyal deputy Claire Wades (Lee Ann Womack). Jimmy, Kyle and their gang of loyal friends, "The Boys," push the envelope in search of high-risk thrills. One fate-filled night, the brothers push too far. The bonds of family and friendships are tested and the consequences haunt the promising star. Four years later, with only the distant memories of stardom, Jimmy returns home to face his terminally ill father, his imprisoned brother, his ex-girlfriend (Dominique Swain) and the life he left behind. Wounds will be healed. A secret will be revealed. A choice will be made.

The movie is set to premiere at the 40th Annual Nashville Film Festival as the headlining movie the evening of Saturday, April 18, 2009.  The screening will be held at Regal Green Hills Stadium 16 located at 3815 Green Hills Village Drive, near the Mall at Green Hills, Nashville, TN.

"I've got a lot of close friends in this film. The movie is like a reunion with a bunch of familiar faces.  ... and I'm really happy for Lee Ann-who has the starring role," said Chesnutt.  "When they asked me to sing, I said 'heck yeah!'  I'm just sorry that I won't be able to be there when it premieres at the Film Festival."

The weekend of the movie debut, Mark will be on the road, doing what he does best, playing the honky tonks. Carrying the torch in the footsteps of George Jones and Waylon Jennings, Chesnutt plays nearly 100 dates a year.

Mark has just released his new single "She Never Got Me Over You" (written by Keith Whitley/Dean Dillon/Hank Cochran and produced by Jimmy Ritchey) which is classic, "must hear" music and is receiving overwhelming applause from country music fans young and old.  It is the last song Keith Whitley wrote and comes from Chesnutt's latest project ROLLIN' WITH THE FLOW.
