Load In If I had to use only one word to describe the April 6 load in for Jeff Beck at the SCC, I guess it would be wet. Wet is always better than frozen tho, especially when dealing with cable, unless of course it's wet from being frozen! The sound company out of Rochester would bring your standard EV line array and old school Crown. (racks and stacks) JB's crew would bring some beautiful Midas consoles including the xl4 (pictured below) at front of house, and the Heritage 3000 at monitor mix. Playing to the theater rather than the ballroom is always a stagehand pleasure since we don't have to bring in a stage. Stage are heavy, 4x8 decks made of wood or metal, and are on risers mage of steel. Both rooms imho sound good. The theater seats around 1800, and the ballroom holds over 2000.
Show Call N/A
Load Out Ahh, a rock show at the SCC! Just handling this gear is getting me jazzed up for concert season at Montage Mountain which starts in just 7 weeks! Stay tuned to TSD and WJAM for the INSIDE scoop on what really happens backstage, and some live feeds directly from the concerts! I'm still learning from the masters and so can you. Here's a shot of JB's guitar rig and Vinnie Coliuta's Gretsch drum kit. How do they get that sound? You'll have to stay tuned or lay some track here to find out. This is the ONLY studio that can show you how to get the sound of the masters.
Note Worthy Couldn't decide who I liked better, Beck or Coliuta??
