The countdown to what? Last fall, my partents, lovely sister, and fantabulous brother-in-law went to Europe, and while they visited all the places I have seen many a time, they did go to a city I had never been to, and for good reason. I have been to italy two, three, no two times, and both times I intentionally avoided Venice. Why you ask? It is such a city to visit. i know, I know, but i wanted to reserve the visit, so that I can one day go with a man I was madly in love with. Why afterall, go to one of the most romantic cities in the world if going alone or with friends???
Well, around the time my parents were in Italy, I had started to date a fantastic, intellignet, talanted, sexy and passionate man. We were still in the early stages of our romance when my folks got back. I remember sitting in the dining room of my Chicago apartment with Ezra telling him how my parents absolutely loved venice. He asked me, very naturally without hesitation if I had ever been. Well, no i told him. He then asked without hesitstion, "want to go?" Well, what woman in her right mind would a. say no, b. believe he was serious.
Turns out he was. I got super excited when he asked, because I was already falling in love with him, and so quickly, it was scary. Naturally I could not allow myself to believe he really meant it though, based ..xperiences and countless disappointments, empty promises from men in my past. So I talked myself out of believing he was serious. after all, it was like October, and we would have to go during my spring break (I had already planned on being in Greece for the winter holiday with a good friend). So, why would this too good to be true man want to ask such a question, when it is so far in advance? Why would he want to stick around that long with me? Well, reader, he was serious, and my fairy tale is already being lived. I was reluctant to believe until he sent an itinerary with our tickets to my email. The countdown is to this trip very much anticipated and deserved. I am finally going to venice, and with a lover, best friend, and partner in crime.
Guess the only question is, once we return, what will be the next destination we start to look forward to? Turkey, Moracco, Krakow (that is a must) maybe Vietnam? Chile? Oh, we have the world.

Ciao!
