Ive been bored out of my mind lately- so I started watching sailor moon!
Heh let me tell you this shit is freaking funny, been a while since Ive watched the little blonde meatball head running from her bully Mamo. Whos american voice actor needs to die... heh. He's a charming young lad- with headache pains whenever his love in in danger. Why does she run from him, well in the comic its pretty bad- he treases her WAY MORE THAN HE SOULD, and in the live action its just "oh im sorry" and in the anime its "What the HELL is your problem you JERK?!!!" Sailor Moon the DIC animated series never stops surprising me with its cute little run ins with the two main characters.
One scene has Usagi and Rei on a kiddy train ride, Usagi is a kid as heart so shes having a blast- but its also an excuse not to walk. Rei is moping behind her and saying "You are the lazyest person I know...." The train hits the brakes, and Usagi whips forward hitting Mamo's back. Usagi says shes sorry- but she doesnt know its Mamo- her biggest bully ever! Mamo makes fun of her and she makes fun of back- "And what the HELL are you doing on a kiddy ride you college FREAK?" He curls over and begins to ignore her- *Note Mamo lost his parents when he was 8 or something they died in a car crash* so maybe hes enjoying being a kid again. heh. He mumbles as Usagi continues to yell at him "Im so getting of at the the next station- this girl is unbareable."
Later in the series first season- Mamo and Rei start dating, and Usagi makes it a mission to find out what theyre talking about. Later in the episode shes attacked by a monster- and it switches back to Mamo and Rei's date Mamo gets sudden head pain- Reason is?!
Mamo and Usagi are tied by destiny- they were in love in another life- NOT LOVERS. Usagi was known as princess Serenity of the moon and Mamo was known as prince Endymond of the Earth *were did they get these names? The greek story of Serene (goddess of the moon- and is also the name of Serenitys mother) and Endymond (the boy that Serene fell in love with while he was sleeping in the fields)* Of course the Moon and the Earth were working out theyre friendship. Queen Barel *She was in love with Endymond, and was jelous of Serenity- so she met an evil force known (in the anime) as the Negaverse origanlly she only wanted to kill the Moon People, but the earth kingdom members were on the moon the day they were attacked* was planning her attack on the Moon Kingdom, and sadly she won- Endymond died protecting Serenity and full of dispair Serenity took his sword and killed herself. Serene couldnt bare that she lost her daughter- so she sent all the souls *or sailor crystals* to the future hoping they could live in peace. And she became nothing but a computer program *jk*.
So Mamo was cursed to always protect Sailor Moon (Serena, Serenity, Usagi, Usaku, Meatball head, butter butt, bunny, fatty, lazy brat, cry baby... and so on) Poor guy, he just wanted to know who he was.
Things that the DIC animated version could have been better at *and the whole animated series in that matter* It could have showed all the episodes from the Animated series... ALL OF THEM. Sadly we missed about... 6 episodes of the series that DIC and Pioneer bought and the whole LAST SEASON was never aired in America. So dont bother looking for the dubbed version. In total you can view 200 episodes of Sailor Moon. Also it could have kept the comic storyline- problem was- it wasnt long enought fot sales. Sadly we got giped. W
Hate Sailor Moon the Animated Series? Read the Manga- which is a mission all on its own since tokyo pop doesnt really print them anymore.
