Those of you that packed into the infamous Tommy's Place in Providence, really got a good taste of my first album of tunes before I recorded anything. '95', 'Everything', 'Sunrise', 'All She Wrote', 'Wait for You' were all written the summer before I ever performed in front of anyone, the rest of the tunes all grew from the live performances, 'Secret' just popped in my head one night and hasn't changed from the first arrangment. I based choosing the 11 songs on 'Best Kept Secrets' on the great feedback...granted I had about 50 other tunes at the time...

We've all grown up a lot since then, some of us would say 'not so much', but we have...and we've all had our share up ups and downs, life experience, not to mention we live in much different of a world than it was at the turn of the century. The more we live and breathe, the more people we meet, addictions we overcome, personalities we click with, or completely clash with, people we fall in and out of love with, the people we think we fall in love with, and secrets that tear our hearts up, we can look back and say with a single scoff/laugh: 'damn, that was nuts', or 'I really did that? Really?', or 'man I was out of control!'. Life can be as crazy as you allow it to be. A good balance works for me, personally...you can't have calm without controversy, and vice versa. There are things in everyday life that make one person laugh out loud (), and would make someone else go out and murder someone() ...or the people who are torn between those two cases that just punch a wall as hard as they can and laugh while their friends sign their cast ().

With that said, the new record has a lot to do with now. It has a lot to do with going through the ringer and finding who you are, seeing what your heart and soul are made of, and dealing with these everyday, or one-time-only life situations. It deals with being single, it deals with being in a relationship, it deals with hating the fact that you're single, and yes, it deals with hating the fact you're in a relationship. It's going to have a lot of honesty and sarcasm, but at the same time it will be a positive record. 'When Did You Become A Bitch?' will not be making the cut, nor 'Woman Be the Death of Me', or 'Shoot 'Em Up!'...sorry kids!

I really don't want to break down each song and tell everyone the meanings and individual stories, I know how they spun out of my head, I think this time the listening audience needs to think for themselves, and feel however way they want about the lyrics.

I've always been a fan of songs that get you in the mood...
...to dance of course, what did you think I meant??
On a musical level, all I'm saying is that there are some good grooves...the songs on 'Best Kept Secrets' and the other 'acoustic' albums were written and made to be acoustic guitar based. The new record will still have some of those signature sounds, but some tunes will be based off of other instruments. A couple tunes are driven by piano, some have a more drum/bass feel. I've been doing a lot of electric guitar driven tunes with the band, but I didn't want this to be a hard rock record, so only expect a handful of those. Some light horn and string section arrangements will be in the mix, but just to add some ambient color. The most important thing to me is make each song shine, not bastardizing anything by having symphony orchestras and every animal at the farm doing tracks, I'm keeping everything simple, and bringing the bells and whistles out for the live performances.

The release date isn't set just yet, I'm still working and getting the songs stronger. When and where is still up in the air, but I am looking forward to throwing together some great parties and events to get all of the fans and friends togeteher, leading up to the release party. You guys have kept me going, that's why I'm going to make this record a great one. Thanks for your support! Fans, friends...and family.
