For those of you who have read my book, REVENGE OF THE HOMECOMING QUEEN, you know that it's filled with all the fun of homecoming week plus a little mystery, romance, serious tiara drama, and lots of comedy. MY days of getting fancy and waiting nervously for my homecoming date to pick me up are LONG gone. So I thought it would be fun to live vicariously through some of you. What is your homecoming theme? What are you wearing to the dance? Are you going single or stag? And what about corsages, are people still wearing them or are those totally lame now? Did something really scandalous happen at the dance...do tell.....

xo,

Steph~

My homecoming this year was amazing and scary at the same time. Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to have the perfect high school experience and go to every dance with a gorgeous guy and have the time of my life. HOWEVER, my dad loves to move around. Right before my freshman year we moved to Birmingham Alabama. A brand new school to start my high school experience off with. As homecoming got closer, i began planning. Who I was going to go with, what i would wear, how i would do my hair, everything. I had everything planned when my half sister called, to inform us that her wedding would be the same day as my homecoming. I was absolutely devistated. I had to miss everything, the parade, the peprally, the dance. Then my sophomore year, i finally had my chance to go to homecoming. I bought a great dress, it was floor length with a slit in the front. It was navy blue and covered in sparkles. But at the last minute, i realized i didn't have a single pair of shoes that i could wear with it. So i had to settle for second best and wear an older black and white dress. It was a fun, but i still hadn't come out of my shyness. I didn't dance or 'let loose'. Then i moved again. This time to Tuscaloosa Alabama. We had homecoming very early this year, so i had very little time to pick a dress. Since my last two homecoming 'failures' i was absolutely determined to have a good time. I got the greatest little purple strapless dress and the prettiest silver heals. i had my entire night planned out: being a cheerleader, i had to stay until half time of the game, then i would go home, take a shower dry and curl my hair, and quickly do my make up. The only thing i had to fix was a date. So i picked out a great guy. He was taller than me (which is hard, seeing as i am 5'9) and had a great personallity. However, he cancelled on my at the last minute. So, i convinced my best friends parents to let her go to the dance with me. We ended up arriving about an hour late. I hadn't had time to curl my hair like i had wanted ( i live about 30 minutes from my school, so it took longer than i had planned). The dance was great. I had been talking to a guy friend of mine, and he had agreed to be my "date" for pictures. Unfortunately, when i got there, he was no where to be found. I was pretty upset that i had been turned down by two guys, but after i found out one of his lungs collapsed i felt horrible. ( so i visited him every day he was in the hospital). Over all, my Junior homecoming was great. It had it's ups and downs, and it was a little scary to know a class mate almost died, but it was a vast improvement compared to my two previous homecomings. Wow, i've written alot about my homecomings... I just home my Senior homecoming is everything I want it to be!
