Hail and Well Met:
If you visited the “We Want Owain Phyfe at the Arizona Renaissance Fest” recently, then you noticed the message stating “This petition is closed. Thank you for your interest.” The owners of the petition are attempting to identify the problem, and continue to rally for Owain. Your patience is appreciated.
However, I am writing this evening to dispel any notion that we “lost”. Confronting an unprecedented and unpopular decision, with absolutely little time to respond; 90 people requested Owain’s return. In addition, I received messages from others wanting to express their dissatisfaction; but, the closed status of the petition prevented their further support. I'm confident we broke the century mark, exceeding 100 “for” signatures. A single opposing view was written by ARF CEO Jeffery Siegel who also responded to the petition: Mr. Siegel stated in closing “ Patrons are not privilege to the myriad of determinations that are to be considered.”
On occasion Jeffery Siegel and Patrons have different visions for the Arizona Renaissance Festival. This is such a moment. However, Jeffery notwithstanding, and considering an anticipated 10% National unemployment; please “do” continue to support the ARF. Many of our remaining friends depend on your generosity for their livelihood. Also, Patron revenue is a strong incentive for encouraging positive change(s).
I promise that Owain’s many friends and fans will overcome this temporary set back.
