INTERGIRLACTIK PRESENTED BY VVF VACANCES, LAST TTR TOUR WOMEN'S EVENT COMPLETE!

Last week-end, European women riders gathered in Les 7 Laux for the 4th edition of the INTERGIRLACTIK Slopestyle event, a TTR Three(3)Star, in the snowpark shaped by the Ho5 crew. From Scandinavia to Italy, Czech Republic to UK, girls came with only one motto: "ride for fun as hell!"

Everything was there to grant really good riding days: sun, nice kickers, motivation; a spring session as we love it!

On Friday, qualifications started with heats of 6 riders, 30min jam session each, 2 best riders qualified with their best run for Saturday's finals. Two young blood riders took the lead in the heat A, Sarka Pancochova from Czech Republic and Heidi Paumola from Finland, showed a variety of clean spins, as well as rail tricks.

In heat B, Finland could not manage to kick Czech Republic out of first position and Hanna Laukkanen (FIN), took the 2nd place behind Jana Cechova (CZE). In heat C, all was about style! Marjolein Hoppen (DAN), the young Dutch rider showed her skills on rails, and it was enough to convince judges to qualify her; Martina Molmarova (SVK) grabbed the 1st place with just one point more than Marjo.

Contest was well launched and snow was going slushy. Everybody was working to keep the kickers well shaped and non-qualified riders were preparing themselves for the second chance runs to get their place on finals.

Preferring to bring down a safe run this time, Bohdana Sebestova (CZE), Ilenia Cavallini (ITA), Jessika Steen England (SWE) and Stephanie Steimann (SUI) got qualified.

Invited girls were already there to train for finals on Saturday, and not a lot of riders stayed out late on Friday night…to be prepared for a great show the next morning!

Saturday morning, bluebird skies welcomed a nice line up of international top riders.

In two 45min jam sessions, the 10 best riders fought to be qualified for super finals.

Young talent Sarka Pancochova (CZE) showed impressive Cork 540s attempts, but with 2 riding days in her legs, unfortunately she didn't manage to land them clean. Stephanie Steimann (SUI) slipped by Aline Bock (GER) by just a few points with clean runs granting her the last of the 10 spot.

Vicci Miller (GBR) temporarily took 1st place with her huge BS3 on the big kicker, followed by a stylish FS540.

Vicci (GBR), Claudia (AUT) and Lisa (AUT) heading the contest since the beginning of the day, and the super finals promised to be a hard fight! With only the best run counting the girls had to use all her finest weapons!

It was Claudia Fliri (AUT) who impressed the judges most; her best run included a clean frontside 720 on the big kicker, followed by a backside 360, nose-grab on the hip and a 50/50 180 out on the uprail. Fliri (AUT) claimed 550 TTR Ranking Points and ends her TTR 06/07 season at the World Nr 19 spot on the Women's TTR World Ranking List presented by Swatch.

An overjoyed Fliri (AUT) stated, "It was pretty great. It was sunny and soft snow. The park was good and the kickers were nice. I like to ride TTR events and feel happy that I get to win an event at the end of the season. I'm stoked!"

Vicci Miller (GBR) claimed 2nd place through a solid backside 360, cab 540, frontside board-slide on the kinked rail, 50/50 180 out to finish the season one ranking spot above Fliri (AUT) at TTR World Nr 18. Lisa Filzmoser (AUT) stomped a big 540 frontside tail-grab, a Cab 540, a mute grab on the hip, finishing with a 50/50 on the rail to win her a podium 3rd and ends the Tour as TTR World Nr 20.

Besides prize money, 3 surf trips to the French South West Coast where up for grabs for a podium position. So you know where to find them this summer, surfing with the person of their choice…!

Above and beyond watching the last TTR Women's event on tour, spectators could enjoy a great freeskiing show. French new comer Sarah Avettand (FRA) rocked the big table with her big repertory of tricks all weekend.

Kensa & Lenie, the graffiti artists performed live in the snowpark and had a fine INTERGIRLACTIK graffiti finished by the weekend.

Different brands came to let people check out next year's equipment: Magic Potion, Beyond Bindings, Lib Tech, Gnu, Allian, 32 Boots, Forum, Santa Cruz, Roxy…

INTERGIRLACTIK finished with the KitGirls Ipod battle and of course, the KitGirls mashed up the show! They rocked the snowpark just as well as the dancefloor with their best 80's clothes!

All riders and journalists enjoyed the event and had a lot of fun here said Gemma from Cooler magazine.

We want to thank all the riders for their coming in from all over the world to put on a great show, all the staff doing a great job making it happen, our partners for believing in Intergirlactik's concept and all the exhibitors who came during 3 days.

About INTERGIRLACTIK

This original concept has been set up for the first time in Europe by Intergirlactik Association, a non-profit organization, established in early 2004. An event created by two girls who want to put female riders forward, INTERGIRLACTIK is the feminine freestyle event above all.

At the 1st edition, the goal was to promote feminine riding and put those sportswomen forward, which are too often set back, compared to men. This was 3 years ago and today, women's riding is clearly boosting and improving, and it is now a fully integrated part of the boardsport industry. INTERGIRLACTIK was one of the pioneer events to be involved in women riding promotion, and innovate each year to emphasis level and women riders' image.
