Some of you may or may not know that I crushed my left thumb back in early March. Damn did it hurt. I was replacing a power window motor on a 2002 Camaro. Those cars have a large piece of glass without any support so the window regulator is under extreme sprung weight. The regulator was in a bench vice and I needed to reclock it for the new motor to fit. When I loosened the vice one of the arms got away from me and broke the bone in my left thumb right under the thumb nail. Needless to say the nail is pretty screwed as well. It's been 4 months and finally, two weeks ago, they took the pins out of my thumb. All and all, it's not a bad surgery. What really sucks is I also have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my right hand and they decided to work on both hands in the same surgery. I'm just now getting to where I can use my right hand for a few things. The left thumb is getting back to "normal" pretty quick. I've lost some feeling and the nail is going to look like crap for 6 more months. Working as a mechanic and loosing your hands really sucks, especially when you own the place.
