Hey everyone!
I first want to wish all of my fellow Americans a happy 4th of July. This is one of my favorite times of the year because, quite frankly, I love hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill and fireworks. It is the perfect opportunity to spend time with those you care about. It is also a great time to remember what is so wonderful about our country. I will be spending the day with family and friends and celebrating our nation's birthday with fireworks. But first, I have this mesage.
I am writing this message to share my big announcement about the Detective Lindsey Scott Thrillstery Series with all of you. As you noticed above, the 3rd Lindsey Scott Thrillstery will be "Cat's Meow" and it will hit the market one year from today (July 4th). The story is one I have been working on for some time and I think it is perfect for #3 of the series.
I spent some time last summer in Washington D.C. doing research for this story. I am making plans to spend some more time later this summer to do some more research. Washington D.C. and all of the work that takes place there has always captured my interest, so it is fitting that one of my books focuses on the city.
Some of you might remember a poll I ran a few months back asking which book, Cat's Meow or Frozen Slumber, you wanted to be the 3rd book in the series. Frozen Slumber won nearly all of the votes and I agree with all of you that it is an interesting story. However, I made a decision that I think will be best for this series. Frozen Slumber will be published, but it will be published where I think it fits best. Can you guess where that is? I bet you can! It's not that I don't want you to get the story you are anxious to read. It's just that I have, what I think are, better plans (even if they aren't definite)
Because I don't have definitive plans for this series, and I let it open to my creativity, I can't tell you exactly when Frozen Slumber will be published. I will assure you that it will be released to you at some point, when I feel it is the right time. And I will also assure you that I have a number of other crimes for Lindsey to solve. But a high stakes, political kidnapping is next on the list. And it is set to be in your hands on the most appropriate day of the year, Independence Day.
