we've destroyed beards in three cities now. philly was the first night of the tour, kung fu necktie is a really cool place and if you've never been there you should definitely check it out. this was our first time seeing BATILLUS since the addition of fade kainer on vocals and synths. dude, BATILLUS was awesome before and they're even better now. fade really brings a lot to the band and they sound fucking great. we had also never played with HULL before, only heard their shit on myspace. HULL rules, they sound so thick and tonalicious. you need to see them live, the crappy myspace player does them no justice.
on to the talking head in baltimore the next night. we played with AMBUVEGA which includes our buddy brian (DARSOMBRA, MEATJACK). they were really cool too, brian has a baritone les paul and an 8-string rickenbacker bass, and he knows how to use them. we got to see some of our friends in baltimore so that was fun too.
house party at the marblehaus in college park next. we played in the classic punk rock basement... you know, holes in the wall in the shape of people, light show by means of flicking the switches, toilet seat on the floor beside the toilet... you've all been to places like this i'm sure. if not, you're missing out. this was probably the best sounding room so far, which is funny cause it was just a dank basement with a crappy pa, but the show was totally killer. locals OLD CROW opened it up and kicked ass. everybody was really drunk and having a good time. the only bummer was that someone puked on the drum cases at some point, but luckily we were close enough to stay at home last night and clean that shit up. oh well, what are you gonna do?
hitting the road for virginia beach tonight, check the calendar for the rest of the schedule. we're looking forward to seeing you out there. thanks!
