Some of you may have already noticed the chat feature has been missing for the last week and a half. I posted a blog earlier stating it was not coming back. We have just received the great news that it will soon be up and running again!!! Although chat is currently disabled we still have some alternatives to help to stay connected to the MySpace community. Please try out the following features until we work thru this issue:



Web IM: If you've been dancing between IM and MySpace, we've just made online socializing a whole lot easier.

If you want to chat with your MySpace friends, here’s what you do
1. click the IM icon (the green cartoon bubble) in the IM bar (on the lower right corner of any MySpace page)
2. Click on Online Friends (to the left of the green bubble)
3. Select the friend you want to IM


Important stuff to know:
- we’ve already added your MySpace friends (up to 1,000)
- click Customize IM friends to add or delete friends
- you can set your IM privacy level to: everyone, all your IM and MySpace friends or only IM friends
- you can pop out conversations to have multiple chats at once
- you can block IMs from MySpace members (whether or not they're on your friend list)

Skype IM: If you haven't installed the application yet, first download the installer (look for the big Download button). Internet Explorer users can select "Run" to immediately start installing, while others should save the installer to disk and then double-click it to start installation. In either case, follow the directions to install the MySpaceIM with Skype application. Note: You must have Administrator privileges on your PC to install IM.



1.    Double-click the MySpaceIM with Skype icon on your desktop, or select Start -> Programs -> MySpace -> MySpaceIM.

2.    In the login panel that pops up, enter your MySpace email and password.

3.    If you do not have a MySpace Username yet, you will be prompted to create one - just follow the instructions.



That's it, you should be signed in. To start chatting, add your friends. You can also talk to your friends on IM for FREE, plus take advantage of lots of other call features.
