So, I have this new friend named Adam, who also goes by Old Grimy.  He's getting his PhD in evolutionary biology, and in his spare time, he makes cooking videos with his friend, who goes by Jcatfood. (Seriously, you've got to click the link -- and stay tuned until the Grime does a "cinnamon shot." Cooking with bands usually looks something like this.)

Anyway, I gave my new friend a copy of my cookbook, and he quickly whipped up a Varldens Basta Pannkaka (located on page 17), which is a big, delicious, custardy breakfast treat that Smoosh's grandma likes to make.  It's kind of like a German Pancake or a Dutch Baby, if you've ever tried those.

Old Grimy topped his with strawberry jam, fresh strawberries, and 70% dark chocolate shavings.  Yum.  Not only is he a super smart scientist and a blossoming celebrity chef, he is also an talented food stylist and photographer.  Just check out the bird's eye view of his breakfast creation, and then get read to dig in.
