Yes, we've been laying low, but Marchioness will surface this week for two shows. The first is at Skully's tomorrow night with a couple of uber-swell bands (not gonna lie - this girl's as biased as they come, but I stand by my opinions). We'll take the stage with The Lost Revival and Josh Fitzwater & The Shambles. Music starts around 9pm, and there's a $5 cover.

Now - that's the warm-up. Save some energy for Sunday, when The Vault (35 E. Gay) will host a benefit for the Forte Music Foundation, an organization that raises money to buy instruments for children and set up music program scholarships. The festivities begin at 1pm, and there's a $15 suggested donation at the door. The day includes several concerts (Blastronauts, St. Moses the Black, and Michael Kelsey), door prizes, an auction and a good deal of light-hearted debauchery.

I can't imagine where I'd be if my parents hadn't been able to afford my first piano. It is a palette, a punching bag, a shoulder to cry on, an electric socket (and it was anything but cheap). Where would I be without it? Hence my passion for Forte's cause.
