It was a dark stormy October day in Hood River Oregon, 1999. The wind johnnys were tucked away in their mansions, and the punk rock scene was getting thicker by the hour. I moved to this town from Portland in 98' or some shit like that. I was amazed at the amount of punk rockers in this small town. It seemed like everyone was into to it. I was friends with this fucking asshole known as Sizzle Nuts. I'm totally serious. He knew I played guitar so he intoduced me to a friend of his that played the drums. Gerde.

Tom was a fucking war machine, and had time to rehearse so we almost instantly went to town. Sizzle picked up a bass, and I showed him a few scales. He learned the basics pretty quick. We quickly developed about 17 songs. All three to four chord songs with lyrics about absolute dick. We blew it at our first show as Gerde was fucking drunk off his ass. The whole town was watching us about to fire up our first song when Gerde just fell of his stool, and past out. There were many physical brawls to follow. We were all in our late teens. Sizzle, and me auditioned 5 drummers in Portland, and Eugene throughout the course of a week. We aquired Chad'. A fucking monster who now plays with Amongst Us here in Portland. He was not so much into the poppy happy go lucky shit I was writting at the time, and rightfully so. He's a metal head. With Chad's departure was the end of First in Line as we knew it. This was in 2001. I think. So in 2002 I rounded up Gerde, and brought him to Portland to rehearse with a new line up which consisted of an old friend. Kevin. It sucked. There was no focus. Then in 2003 I tried again. This time with Gerde, and some guys I met when a friend of mine ran out of gas down town. We sounded great but Gerde was hard to maintain (druken crazy) so we fell apart again. I saw him at a lag wagon show a year ago, and he appeared to be doing great.

The band was on ice for another 3 years until the spring of 06' when I decided to do this fucking thing again. This time with my brother on bass, and Kevin on drums. It was fun, but again the focus was not there. I called a friend of mine (Omar), and asked him if he was interested in starting another project as my other one was headed down the street of septic retribution. When I was in the guitar store looking at some drum equipment with my then drummer Kevin I noticed that I knew the dude at the counter. It was Joel. Joel dated my girl's sister for a little while way back when, and as it turned out he played the drums. We traded phone numbers, and I called him soon there after to ask if he would be interested in working with us (Omar, and myself). I played bass for a few weeks then Joel introduced us to Guy. Now we were kicking some ass. So I hastily left my other project soon after my drummer called to tell me he couldn't make a gig 3 hours before load in because he didn't feel well.

So there we were. Guy, Omar, Nick, and Joel. Then concerns with Joel began to form. Drugs, life, bad attitudes, and his skills. We needed someone with power, and Joel had this odd temptation to go half time when we were looking for double. Then he would tell us we were sucking, and that we needed to spend money on better gear. His shit was getting old fast. Then Guy introduced us to Mahone. With the quickness Joel was sent packing, and Mahone became our drummer.

Since then we have recorded one 5 song demo that is decent, and played about one show a month here in Portland. We are growing fast, and making new songs as I write this blog. If you don't come to our shows we will find you, and force you to eat the toe cheese on Guys left foot.
