Chinese Auction at Hal Blaine's 80th! Win MemorabiliaThursday Feb. 5th, 2009. UPDATE BELOW!!!

Just added! Hal Leonard Music has generously donated two gift certificates to their catalogue of items (books, sheet music etc)!On the evening of Hal Blaine's birthday party, we will be hosting a Chinese Auction to raise money for the Hal Blaine Scholarship Fund. We are proud to announce the creation of a scholarship fund at the Berklee College of Music that will benefit music students for generations to come (in perpetuity) and honor Hal's contributions to music history. In order to raise the money necessary to endow the scholarship ($50,000 in 2 years) we will be offering several items for auction with the help of gracious donations from Hal's endorsers. Auction Items by List The following commercial and memorabilia items are some of the things that will be available for Chinese Auction:

- 36"x24" foam-core mounted and autographed poster of Hal Blaine circa late 60s/early 70s!
Each auction ticket sheet that is purchased automatically enters you into a drawing for a door prizes, in this case 25 autographed drum heads (REMO 14" Ambassador) and 10 (or more) autographed 8.5"x11" glossy photos of Hal. Buy 10 sheets of tickets, you're entered 10 times for a chance to win a door prize. Aside from the auction, the first 120 people that purchase ANY amount of auction tickets will receive a brand new pair of Zildjian "Hal Blaine" Signature Series drumsticks. If that's not enough, there will also be some Hal Blaine birthday t-shirts and CDs for sale including the seminal "Buh-Doom" and "Hooray for Hollywood (and Local 47)" Hal Blaine audio story albums. All merchandise proceeds will be donated to the scholarship fund. Knowing that the economy is in a down-turn we're still asking that everyone dig deep and donate for a chance to win something tangible... Not just because we all like "stuff" - but because this period marks our single chance to honor the life and work of Hal Blaine, and create a source of funding for struggling and talented drummers and musicians for many generations to come. Hal has picked Berklee College of Music as his school of choice, and we believe that with your help we can raise the $50,000 to endow the scholarship (in perpetuity).
