I enjoy sitting in local coffeehouses, watching and listening to people. Familiar faces of the other regulars casually smile and nod hello, while hurried strangers rush through on their way to more important destinations. The latter have that look in their eyes that tell you their mind is too preoccupied with either setting or meeting their next urgent appointment to notice anyone or anything but the clerk at the counter and the menu board above them.

Such is the life of a coffeehouse. There are those who pause awhile to relax and enjoy time spent there, and those who barely have time to dash in, grab a grandé low-fat-no-whip Mocha, and dash back out. Come to think of it, such is life…period.
