There is not a whole heck of a lot to report since I last
posted. We have just been hard at
work.
We wrapped up our stay in Wisonsin and headed back to
Duluth, MN on Tuesday! We had to
say goodbye to the best cheese in the world. Patrick stocked up before we hit the road though…so he will
be good for a little while. We got
back to the Willard Munger Inn on Tuesday afternoon in just enough time to grab
some mountain bikes from the front desk and head out on the Munger trail. How beautiful! Hunter and I rode 5 miles one way on
the trail, and met up with Corey on the way back. We all managed to make our way up the side of the trail to a
lookout. We could see the whole
city of Duluth and Lake Superior…so pretty! That evening we all slept really well because we were all
worn out from our trail riding.
Before we hit the hay though on Tuesday night, we drove over
to Superior, WI (just over the lake) and caught a set from two bands at a
couple different venues in Superior.
We had the fortune of meeting the Thomas Michael Band and catching some
of their original material. Great
tunes you guys! Thanks for the CD
as well!
Wednesday, we tried to take it easy after we checked out of
the Munger Inn. We wanted to save
our energy for our show and then for driving through the night to Mahnomen,
MN. We did stop off at a place
called the Enger Tower (after a few detours, and turnarounds…and a really big
jerk that kept honking the horn at us.
Hey dude…blinkers aren’t asking for permission….they are made to tell
you we are turning whether you like it or not!) The Enger Tower and Park area were beautiful. We climbed the tower to view the city
of Duluth, the harbor, and the City of Superior. So neat! We had
a great show at the Powerhouse again on Wednesday. Everyone was so kind and we look forward to getting back to
Proctor…and I look forward to doing a little ice fishing up this way one of
these days. Patrick would love
that “nice cool” weather…but Tracy may very well freeze if we come back during
ice fishing season.
We wrapped up loading the trailer around 1:45AM and set out
on the road for Mahnomen. We
rolled into the Shooting Star Casino parking lot around 6:15AM with Hunter
having driven the whole way.
Patrick is a great co-pilot and we enjoy his funny stories! J We got to bed around 7:00AM and woke up
in just enough time to grab a bite and set-up for our performance on Thursday
night.
We had a good night at the Casino and watching some folks
win some big bucks was pretty cool.
I can’t say that any big luck has come our way just yet…but we are
hoping for some “big money” before we head back home. Hunter met a guy today that won $750 on a slot machine! Now I need that to happen to me! We play here through Saturday and then
we are off to Lincoln, NE. I’ll
keep you posted on the winnings if there are any! J
