A lot has happened over the past few months. Some good, some bad. I won't bore you with all of the details, just the pertinent stuff.
Drove to Seattle for the
Emerald City Con. My first time to Seattle in years, and my first time ever to the Con. Boy, what a great show! The fans were great, only a few odd ones in the crowd, and Jim Demonakos and his crew really kept things together. Really, probably my best Con experience in years.
A few weeks later I drove out to Chicago. Yes, I drove from California to Chicago!Aside from being pulled over three times in Ohio by the Highway Patrol looking for illegal immigrants, I had a blast the whole way. And
Wizard World Chicago was pretty damn terrific this year. Again, just really positive vibes from the fans, and getting to hang with Ethan Van Sciver, made it a great experience. I had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Bob Layton and his lovely assistant, Sorah.
Just got back a few days ago from the
San Diego ComiCon. Wow, it's become such an over-bloated monstrosity! Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is my last year.

One of the cool things about the
Chicago Con was that we found out who won this year's
Wizard Fan Awards. The ceremony itself was canceled for some reason. But on Sunday I was virtually assaulted by camera men and presented with the award for Favorite Colorist.
Since I was robbed the chance to give any speech, let me take a moment here to thank a few folks. First of all, I need to thank
Pete Tomasi. I'm delighted to see that he won for Favorite Editor, because he really is the best editor I ever worked for. A real stand-up guy, and I miss working with him almost every day.
Ivan Reis and
Pat Gleason, because I'm only as good as the artists I work with, and they're phenomenal. I really need to thank my pals
Geoff Johns and
Ethan Van Sciver. As rough as things have been over the last year, these guys stuck by me. They're true friends. And finally, I want to thank the fans for overlooking four much-more talented colorists than I. But since I've always been one to take advantage of other folks' misfortune, I'm keeping this sucker!

Cover Round-UpMarvel Adventures Hulk 16Not quite sure why they threw this one at me, but what the hell. I've always been a fan of
Tom Grummet.
HancockGot an Email several weeks back from
Neal Adams wanting me to color this piece up for some sort of movie promotion. I never saw where it was used, but any chance I get to work with Neal...
Dead Ahead 1Here's something cool. I'm working on a three-issue zombie series with
Alex Nino! Man, this is gonna be great.
Flash: RebirthAnd of course, unless you've been sleeping under a rock for the last week, you know Barry Allen is on his way back. It'll be good to work with Geoff and Ethan again. We're really gonna blow people's minds with this one.

Okay, that's all I've got! Bye for now!
MOOSE!!!
