BIOGRAPHY :

ASIDEFROMADAY was formed back in 2000. When practice started to pay off, the band recorded two tracks for a compilation in 2001. After this first studio effort as a new experience, the band decided to record their first release " Maieutics" in 2002. It consists in 7 songs of loud and harsh Hardcore with metal sound. AFAD started to do some shows in the east of France. After releasing "Maieutics", Charles (guitar) decided to leave the band for personal reasons. 2002 was perhaps the most important year in the history of the band, as AFAD is now a quatuor, the band decided to bring their sound to a new direction. In 2004, 4-tracks EP "Setting in motion" is recorded and discerning audience instantly appreciated the band's new approach. The band received good reviews and played more shows in France.

"Draft" for one of the biggest Festival (Printemps de Bourges ) in France as one of the most "extreme" promising band, AFAD continues to impress by their feelings and sincerity. At this point touring became a lot more frequent. It's now time for the band to record their first full-length, in 2005 born "Divine Proportion" (9 songs of modern Hardcore with a hint of sludge and stoner metal) the long awaited album received rare reviews by mainstream and specialized press. Supported by some amazing band such as Gojira, AFAD hit the road in Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland and made a two-weeks French tour with their new labels support Exutoire Records and Impure Muzik Records and label mates Cortez. In 2007, the band stopped to do some shows in order to compose their new album "Manufactured Landscape". AFAD also worked at the same time on their new Live DVD "Videography". It's released in Switzerland by a new video label Dali Recordings, it contains some full set plus several long extracts of various festivals and more...
In 2008, the band is part of the "Falling Down Compilation" with Kylesa, Pelican, Amen Ra, Knut... with a previous track of the new album.

2009 is the year of the awaited come back of the band with "Manufacture Landscape", AFAD proved that they're now ready to bring their sound-landscapes to a much wider audience. Contacted by a Swiss label, "Manufactured Landscape" was released September 22th 2008 on Division Records (Knut, Unfold, Kehlvin, Impure Whilelmina, Vancouver, Zatokrev, Unsane).
