This past weekend the Radio Dismuke mobile studios traveled down to Waco, Texas to the home of Eddie The Collector for another Texas Record Collectors' Party Broadcast. I have uploaded an ablum of photos from the tip to the photos section of my profile.

Eddie , Matt From College Station who came in from (where else but) College Station and Christian who drove up from Austin all brought nice big stacks of great 78 rpm records for the broadcast. Before the broadcast we had an outdoor listening party of sorts on the Baylor University campus playing 78 rpms on one of Matt's portable wind-up phonographs. We also visited a very nice old 1909 house that is now used as an antique store but which, decades ago, was the home of the president of Dr. Pepper which was invented and, at one time, headquartered in Waco.

Speaking of Dr. Pepper - we also visited the soda fountain at the Dr. Pepper Museum and had Dr. Pepper Sundaes. Basically that is vanilla ice cream with Dr. Pepper syrup on top. Sounds kind of gross, I know - but it actually tastes GREAT. We had it with Dublin Dr. Pepper syrup. Dublin Dr. Pepper is made by the worlds oldest Dr. Pepper bottling plant in the small town of Dublin, Texas which never made the switch from cane sugar to corn sweetener - and the taste difference is definitely noticeable.

Afterwards, we all went back to Eddie's place to record the broadcast - which lasts four hours.


I have not yet set an exact date for when the broadcast will air as that really depends on what my schedule will end up looking like over the next few weeks. My guess is it will be sometime in late August or September. Once I have set the date, I will certainly post advance notification of the broadcast both here, at RadioDismuke.com and on in-stream ads on the Radio Dismuke broadcast.
