Well, I guess the fire didn't really happen and the spider is up in spider heaven... (shame on me for that but I can't help it)

As I was saying... I met this guy Pat. Really cool guy and although he has probably renovated most of Columbus, GA, which is a very creative line of work, I still think he's a closet artist.
We met at The Loft and we had plans to go to an outdoor Jazz thing the next night which got rained out. So, I got an invite to his home, which was only 3 blocks away from my hotel. When I got there I heard Clair de Lune blasting from the speakers. Damn it! somebody else did a Cello arrangement of that song. Duh... it was Suki from the CD. Whew!
Pat and his friend Gary were finishing up a game of pool on a miniature pool table that was set up in the living room. I took some video but I'll have to see if it's myspace worthy.
Pat's next door neighbor, Eileen, dropped by so we sat on the porch with guitars, I opted out of playing of course, and for a change I sat and listened.
Gary did some Tom Waits and Eileen did some stuff in every language imaginable. Also, discovered she's a great artist (painting, sculpting and such). Took some video of her and got her singing one of her originals. Lots of video to edit now.

Check back now and then for video or a note saying the video was too sucky to put up.

So, I'm in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina today. Played a small (and I mean small) coffee shop, City Lights, in Downtown Charleston. Great town. People were in and out but there was one point that the place was packed and it only takes about 15 bodies to get it there.
I set up in the smallest area I have ever seen right by the door. You might get an idea of it at www.myspace.com/citylightscoffee.

Coffee shops are weird for me and there's something about playing in the daytime that feels off to me too, but I always end up finding a groove. Feels like I should play light stuff but I find a place in my head where I can say "screw it" and just do my thing. Seems like when I do that people get into it.

The Amazing Mittens played after my set. A South Carolina duo that did 1920's stuff with Ukulele's. Totally entertaining! They do have a band though and if you'd like to check them out go to www.myspace.com/thevtonesofcharleston.
Got video of a few songs. Like I said lots of video to edit...

It's 2pm and I haven't eaten and my stomach is SCREAMING! way to take care of yourself Rendrag.

More later and not in any particular order.

Well, well, well would you just look at that! Keep the blog(s) coming- it's fun stuff to read. Need more about non-people events tho (e.g. spiders). Oh and brifges...are there any bridges in this story? I just love a good bridge story.
