Who Gives Kudos:

We wrote some songs and decided to record them.

This is the follow up to our first record 'We Share the Sky'

This blog will keep you updated on our progress

9/11/08

We have finished tracking.  It only took us 2 years.

We ended up with 14 songs tracked and decided we would put out an EP prior to releasing our album.  So as of right now it looks like the EP will be available to purchase online at the end of September with a release at some stores locally in early October.  We plan on having an EP release party some time in the middle of it all.  What we are planning, if in fact it does pan out, will be an all out party.  You won't want to miss it.

Hendrick EP 10/2008: YOU GON DROWN: the Summer Homes EP

1. You Gon Drown
2. Gun & A Knife
3. Summer Homes
4. I'll Be There
5. Magic Mountain

Hendrick Album 12/2008: Exhale

This beast will be out in December.  We think you'll like it.
Keep your eyes on our calendar.  We will probably start playing quite a few dates all around Texas quite soon.

Thank you for your patience,

-Hendrick

In the last few months we have had so many issues with theivery, band changes and frustrations due to being stagnant.

Here is the deal as of right now....

...We plan on tracking the last of our upcoming album on May 16th(we will also be playing a show that evening at the Granada).  The plan after that is then to mix, master and print the album by August.
Knowing that time can be sensitive to change; we are not making any promises.
We will simply say that we hope...

Exhale, the new Hendrick album, will be released in the Fall of 2008.

Thank you all for your patience with us.

In case you hadn't heard, we've had a few stumbling blocks pop up.  The day before we were supposed to go in, and finish the album, with all of Hans' parts, someone broke into Hans' house, and stole every piece of equipment he owns.  This is bad, on so many levels, because Hans has a very specific sound, and system.  He's spent years building it to what it is.

We're working on getting several pieces back from pawn shops, etc., with the help of the police.  Once he gets to a point where he's comfortable with recording, we're going back in to finish this thing out.  Then will come mixing, etc.

In the meantime, we're working on our NEXT album.  The plus side to this one taking so long, is that we might release 3 albums in one month when we're done.

Sorry about the delay.  It couldn't be helped.

19 days.  That is how long until we are done 'tracking' our new album.  For those of you who don't know, 'tracking' is the first step in the record-making process.  When it's done tracking we will send it to get mixed, mastered, and then it will finally be in your hands.

I have about half of the vocals done and Hans will be putting the finishing touches on his stuff on Sunday the 20th.  Jay and Aaron have a few guitar things they need to finish and then a *special guest vocalist* will track a song with me and that will be the end of recording.

Lord knows you all have waited sooo long and we thank everyone who has stuck with us as we took our time to make it how we wanted it.

I hope that you all have enjoyed the new songs we have been introducing along the way.  There are still a few surprises that I can't wait for you all to hear.

Love you dearly,

-Josh

Greg here.  Letting everyone know that I am done with all my bass parts.  Our new drummer, yet old Hendrick member, Jay, is done with the drums (he'll lay down a few guitar & keyboard parts later).  Matthew, the newest member of our clan will head in with Hans, Josh, & Aaron to finish everything out later this year.  If you've ever heard Matt play acoustic guitar, you know what he'll bring to the table.

It's exciting!

Today we did it.  We've laid down all the bass and drums that you'll hear on this album.  Tomorrow, Josh & Aaron are going to lay down the remaining electric guitar tracks, minus Hans and a few little things.  After that, we take the tracks home and do some little things, that don't really require a full blown studio to do.  And sometime in October, Hans will get to go in and work his magic on the songs.  But until then, we'll keep you up on everything we're doing.

And we learned today, from the amazing Will Hunt, our gangsta producer, that "celestial manure" is best received into your brain, through your ear.  Which is what ears were actually made for?

We have spent 2 days at Spaceway with Will Hunt(our producer) and have tracked bass and drums for 6 songs and little guitar.
We are having so much fun and the songs are starting to sound incredible with just the little bit that we have done.

2 more weeks of tracking at Spaceway and then it's back home to do little stuff...strings, flute, and kazoo ect....

Then it's back to Spaceway to finish guitars and lay down vocals.

Then mixing and mastering will seal the deal.  I'm not going to tell you when this thing is going to be done but the time frame that we placed on it has turned out to be too long.  We are knocking out things quicker than we thought and Will wants to finish tracking earlier than we did.  I think he'll win.

See you soon.
