Well, I'm glad it didn't take very long for the agent I queried to get back to me to say she wasn't interested in RENEGADE. I'm actually relieved to finally KNOW, so I can move on.
I've decided to send this one to Harlequin Historicals. According to their website, you can query via email. So I sent the query, the synopsis, and the first three chapters to the email addy in London. But I have a question to anyone who can answer it.
The eHarlequin site says I will be notified that they received the email. Usually this means their email client sends out an automated "Thank you for submitting...yadda yadda...", however, I haven't gotten an automated email and I sent my query about 6 hours ago.
Has anyone queried via email to HQ Historicals? Do they have an automated email or do they send out personal replies? Because I know it's the beginning of the weekend and I sent my query in the middle of the night in London. LOL I don't expect any physical person to email me that they got my query, but I'm freaking out that I haven't gotten an automated email to say they've got it.
I don't want to wait weeks if they don't have it! I've never queried HQ Historicals before. When I queried the Undone line, I DID get an automated email. So... I'm confuzzled.
Don't want to be one of those authors who's constantly poking a publishing house, "Didja get my query?" lol
ANYHOW, this is my Plan B. If they don't bite, I'll probably send this story to Samhain. If they don't like it, I'll send it to Champagne. SOMEONE'S gonna publish this dang book!!!
