Current mood: awake
Expectation building here in Zanzibar prior to BK's guest appearance with a revitalised Mohamed Ilyas at Sauti za Busara on Thursday. And judging on rehearsals, Bi Kidude has been rejuvenated by a fresh 15 piece band put together by irrepressible impresario Roger Armstrong.
DVDs will be on sale from Thursday - currently cash only from a stall in Stone Town's Old Fort, but in selected shops here and then a UK/Europe/Africa release on April 20th .
Thanks to all who have supported the film thus far through 2 years of festival screenings (myspace.com/screenstation) is still the best place for all the news of our major travels and minor awards. We'll get an email out to all who have asked to be kept informed about buying the DVD online. It makes sense for us to sell as many as we can after gigs and screenings, but there will be a limited number available.
We've put much effort into the extras and recycled board and foam packaging - 10 new short films to accompany the soundtrack, and a 16 page booklet of Aubrey's pictures.
Press friends - there'll be a new press release online soon but we're doing things face to face on Saturday with a screening at the festival here, then an informal celebration at Monsoon Restaurant on Sunday at 3pm. Pass it on.
