Anyone that knows me knows that I LOVE to eat food!  I have an insatiable appetite for sweets most of the time and all while contest dieting all sorts of things kept popping into my head.  I mean, I would be at the gym doing 2 hours of cardio and then I would see an ad on TV with this woman devouring (OK, not devouring like I would, but sensually biting into a dark chocolate bar).  I do not eat chocolate sensually.  I devour it, as if in some crazy food eating contest!  Screw the hot dog contests, give me jars of peanut butter or dark chocolate or better yet, butter cream cake icing and I am all over that crap!  I just put down 3/4 lb butter cream cake icing from Publix and 16 oz of Organic Egg Nog!  (Thank God there are no shows during the month of December).  All I know is that I can eat like a MAN!  Here is what I have eaten since getting onstage this past Saturday (11-15-08).

Saturday:  Carbed up with dark chocolate chips, gluten free granola and then I ate peanut butter at night when everyone went out to eat.  I smuggled my Peanut Butter into the restaurant and ate that with more chocolate.  OK, so I looked AWESOME on Sunday for my photoshoot in the AM.  That was cool.  I was PUMPED UP!  Then, Sunday I went out for Sashimi in Fort Lauderdale with my hubby and Alex Gonzalez and his wife Carolina from Muscleology/Axis DZN.  After that my hubby and I went to the Whole Foods Market in Coral Springs and I bought a Gluten Free Pecan Pie.  I ate the whole thing....that thing is like 6 inches in diameter and has 256 grams of FAT!  ha!  OK, Monday I was good cause I was under the impression that I was going to Nationals.  Tuesday I was good until I found out LATE tuesday night that I could not go to Nationals.  I was depressed, so I ate another whole jar of the White Chocolate Wonderful Peanut Butter from the Peanut Butter Company (www.ilovepeanutbutter.com).  Then, yesterday I was being good until I had this overwhelming URGE for a steak.  I LOVE red meat, especially a beautifully marbled Ribeye!  To top it off I love blue cheese melted on a steak.  It is like better than sex...OK...that is a bit of an exaggeration, but close!  LOL  OK, so I went to the restaurant that I work at Part Time (The Cap'n and the Cowboy) and had my buddy, the owner and head chef, cook me a steak.  He marinated it in Extra Virgin Olive Oil, salt, pepper, and fresh chopped garlic.  He cooked it RARE for me (it was still a bit cool in the center and had a purple hue....I love it that way).  He melted almost all the blue cheese on it.  He also made me a baked potato with butter and melted cheddar cheese.  On top of that he made me fresh sauteed asparagus in EVOO with salt, pepper, and garlic....YUMMY!  For desert I had some Canoli cream (not the pastry part).  Prior to eating that steak dinner, I had about 3/4 lb of mixed raw nuts and a 77% dark chocolate bar.  Today I was good, but my tummy was killing me, so after not going to the gym for the 4th day in a row, I drank about 16 oz of Organic Egg Nog that I got at Publix with 3/4 lb of butter cream cake icing and some raw nuts on top the icing...YUMMY!  I officially feel like SHIT, but that is OK.  It was worth it.  Tomorrow I get back on the diet HARD CORE and go back to training like a beast!!!!!  Promise!  I do not want to become chubby again.  Not that I was before, but I really like being leaner.  :-)  OK, now that I have told you my food addiction story, I would love to know what you think.  LOL  I swear, I kept it all down, too!  I do not puke cause I cannot puke.  Puking makes me puke more and once I start I do not stop!  I cannot do that...I just deal with the pain in my guy and WAIT for it to go away!  Then I go bust ass in the gym the next day.  LOL  Just as bad as puking in a way, but we all have our vices....and mine is FOOD!

If only people knew how this gluten-based food is a leading cause to diabetes and hypoglycemia as well. I did some checkups and I think I may have the same condition as you but milder.
Been following some of your advice on the gluten free food and magically I feel like a new man lol

Congratulations on your placing and for qualifying for Nationals! I'm glad that you're enjoying your sweets, Tamar! I cheated all day the day after The North American Championships, but then I remembered those last 2 weeks of dieting which were tough, and I don't want to gain the weight back. I'm pretty much sticking to my diet and having 2 cheat meals a week. Continue training hard at the gym, and Best of luck next year at Nationals.
You look AMAZING as usual!

Tamar, you are a woman after my own heart! If I had an older sister, you would definitely be her! Absolutely! I enjoy ribeyes served medium rare, marinated in extra virgin olive oil, a little worchester sauce then rubbed with kosher salt an a pinch of fresh cracked pepper. With that, I like having 15 or 20 roasted garlic cloves and big beefy onions rings and a nice salad served as support. That to me is top notch! MY FOOD STORY! Back in the summer of 1995 when I was going into highschool, I went to Don Shula's Steak House where I then preceeded to eat the 48oz t-bone, several shrimp cocktails, caesar salad, bread, and even chocolate cake for dessert. So, I am a member of Don Shula's 48oz club. If you are ever in Don Shula's in Tampa, look for my name on the actual plaques on the walls.
From Ohio with love! ;)

TAMAR! You are a woman after my own heart! I actually think we'd get a long really well. If I had an older sister (I am an only child), I think she would most definitely be like you! And you certainly know how to chow down! It's so nice to know that there are still real women out there who love to eat real food and not be uptight about it! You go girl! After reading this, I want a ribeye steak now! LOL. My perfect steak is a medium rare ribeye thats been marianated in extra virgin olive oil with a splash of worchester sauce then rubbed with kosher salt, and a pinch of fresh crack pepper. Then, I roast 15 or 20 garlic cloves to serve with it. Serve with big beefy onion rings and a nice salad with oil and vinegar, and I am one happy camper! Though, I have never tried blue cheese. I must experiment! FOOD STORY. Okay, when I was 14 in the summe rof 1995, I was at the Don Shula steak house in Tampa, and I ate the 48oz steak--along with bread, a few shrimp cocktails, caesar sald, and even room for chocolate cake for dessert. Oh man, talk about feeling like crapola. I didn't eat for 24 hours! My father's friend, Mark Jacobson, took us there during his reign as the main guy for many years at Kendall Toyota. He had just started his show, Miami Nights. Do you remember that? No worries if not.
So, if you are ever in Don Shula's Steakhouse in Tampa, look on the walls for the "48 ouncer club members" and you will find my name! Rock on, Tamar!

Tamar! You are wonderful! I am GLAD however, that you will be getting back on the grind. You know food never tastes as sweet as after a contest! When you have been depleting for SOOOOO long, everything tastes good. My vice is SUGAR. And not just any sugar, plain old condensed right to the point sugar. After dieting down my first year I ate a bag of smarties like every day for 10 days! LOL! I would weight in, in the morning...if I had not gained weight..."ok eat more smarties!!!", of course on day like 11, I all of sudden was like 7 lbs heavier and about had a heartattack! Then got back on the grind!

Your body probually was craving fat & sugar, and protein...well maybe everything!! LOL!

Have a awesome fit day!!! Keep Smiling!! :)

Um.... I'm thinking, "typical!" :) hahaha
Well, typical for those super special folks, like yourself, that I know :)

Tamar, I'm surrounded by woman whom share your voracity. I always get the guilty call afterward. And, I'd love to pit your eating prowess up against my friends Colette, Elise, and Diane. Now THAT would be a challenge!!! Believe me, Colette put down 9,000 calories at a time. Right after competing in the Olympia she did. To me, that's been a hallmark sign of a good competitor.

I SO hear you on the puking thing. I'm terrified of it. It' on of the bases of my anorexia. Though it seems I share in the obsession with food, just manifest it in an opposite fashion. Going out to eat is a bit of a challenge.
Though you'll love me even more to know that lately, I order what others like so they can share it :) So know you know whom to sit near in the future ;) hahaha

xoxoxo
