I have noticed that I am being asked a number of the same questions regarding my book "Living with the Gray Tones".  I am being encourage by members of the literary community to start posting a blog, so until I find a more suitable site for it, I thought a quick Q & A about the book would be a good start.

Q:  Are you publishing under your real name?
A: Yes, Darla Ferrara is my real name, who would make that up?

Q:  Where did you come up with the idea for Gray Tones?
A:  I don't really know, it started with a single idea, a women returning to her home town after many years and went from there.

Q: Is that what Nebraska is really like?
A: Yes and no.  Nebraska was a wonderful place to grow up but not necessarily the most exciting location.  The people there are warmhearted and kind, I think it's in the air or water supply.

Q:  Are you influenced by other authors?
A:  Probably, I hope so.  I read several including my favorite Michael Creighton.

Q:   Have you written other books?
A:  Not really, short stories mostly..This is my first attempt at a mainstream book.

Q:  Can I buy it in bookstores?
A:  I don't know.  It will be available at Amazon, Google books, E Books, Barnes & Noble Online...and several other places.  I believe you will be able to order it from bookstores.

Q:  If I buy a copy, will you sign it?
A:  Of course.  If you are here in Kissimmee, I'd be happy to.  If you want a signed copy and are a distance, contact me.  I'll work it out.  I also anticipate a few book signings at various stores, probably local but who knows?

Q:  Are you writing another book and is it a sequel?
A:  Yes and no.

Q:  Is it true I can download a free copy or read it online?
A:  Yes until the release that is true.  I set up a copy on Lulu for that purpose.  It was a marketing ploy to get some feedback and well worth the time for me.  You can find it at these links:
