Alright music friends and fellow pals in the industry, listen up, I've got something you may be interested in. Over the summer and fall I am working on building a visual portfolio of what skills I posses, and the different areas I already have experince in. Short and sweet, there are some skills that I already have fine tuned but would like to build more experince in for my resume, or skills that I have yet to aquire. Here's were you come in, consider this a win win gig. I'm looking to partner up with a few different bands that are planning to make things happen with their career over the summer and fall. Ideally, you already should have a buzz going about your band, and be ready to kick things in high gear for the summer. I want to come out of each project with numbers and figures as to how my help was influnetial to your band. As we all know, numbers don't lie.
Here are the skills I am looking to build upon that I already have experince in...-Stage Management
-Event Coordination & Planning
-Image Consultation
-Touring
-Creative Marketing/Promotions/Advertising
-Image Branding
-Artistic Direction
-Photography (Helping bands market themselves through thier look, including promos, but not limited to this)
Here are the areas I am interested in picking up additional skills in...-Audio & Lighting (hands-on)
-Touring, touring, touring
-Image Consultation
-Business management
-Show coordination & scheduling
Along with having a vast array of pals and amigos in the Saint Louis scene, I also happen to be pretty darn resourceful in generall. Basically, if your band needs help with something that falls into the catagories above, and you feel I may be interested in it for my portfolio, shoot me a message. Over the summer and fall, I will be putting together a short documentary about myself and the skills I posses to include with my resume. This means, I'll randomly have my pal/ugliest kid this side of the river Tony taggin' along to events with his camera catching some of the madness. This may open up video footage opportunties as well for your band, but as always, no 100% gurantee.
Ideal bands...-Must have things in motion for their summer/fall schedules
-Must have established themselves in the Saint Louis scene
-Must take themselves seriously, and their band seriously
-Must have goals and ambition
-Must not suck or make my ears bleed, and have a good sense of humor. Dirty jokes are encouraged, as well as offensive language, and hilarious van/road rituals.
Bottom line, I want to work with bands that want to go somewhere and are ready to work their asses off to get there. At the same time, I want to be surrounded with people who are humble and always ready to have a good laugh. As an example of an image revamp I did for my fellas Allusive, here are some before/afters for two of the members. I will actually have a third update to these shots within the week for all the members, as I swanked the boys up over the weekend and did a third update to their image. Anways, take a look, and you can see an example of my work, yada yada. Get at me if you feel you have something I may be interested in. I'm only taking on a few bands, the more willing you are to work, and the more your band has rollin' the better your chances are. Sorry friends, this is the music business, we're all here to succeed. This isn't about who's my friends, it's about who's out there working their asses off. I don't play favorites when it comes to opportunties. I'm about to finish up a Bacholors Degree in Media Studies, which basically means I've spent the last four years studying marketing, promotions, advertising, image, and theatre. I'd like to think I know a little bit about all this jibber jabber, and I'd like to start puttin' that $827,348,237,493,827,493.84 degree to use and see if I learned anything. Getta' hold of me if your interested. :)
