Wondering if i’ll ever get better at this.....
I am back in Calgary, got a place, got a coffee table and a sofa, so things aren’t bad.
I have been writing for the next Cam Penner & the Gravel Road album. Have to say i’m pretty excited about it. A Rock n’ Roll i’m sure you will all love.
I will be releasing my first solo album coming up this summer. This album was recorded with Jon Wood. Jon is Rodney Decroo’s side guy on lap steel and guitar. The three of us toured together for a month last year through western Canada. We recorded this album two days after the tour was over. Just adding a few things and it should be ready to go. This will be a double disc project with the second cd featuring Cam Penner & the Gravel Road live at the Calgary Folk Fest ((07) and some tracks i recorded with Tim and Jay Bennett from Chicago. Tim and Jay used to play with the Bastard Sons of Johnny Cash and i toured with them through Ire/Scotland and the UK. I also joined them for a three week stint through California and Nevada. Last spring i was able to spend some time playing and recording in their hometown of Chicago.
So thats about it. Writing, recording and planning on getting back on the road in the fall. Check out my shows page to see where i’m at.
