Hey folks!
Just thought we should update everyone on the haps these days! Jenny and I had an awesome time at Harvey's in Kalamazoo last Friday. You'll probably see us down there at least once a month if we're lucky! Thanks for being so supportive down there. Our next show down there is at Martini's on Wednesday, April 29th at 8:00 p.m.! We can't tell you how exciting it is to play for new crowds, and we hope to please your ears as best we can.
Speaking of which.. we've added yet another addition to our sound with an Electric Guitar! Yup, Pinky Lee has gone Electric! You'll have to start calling her Jenny "Hendrix" Bousquet. Hehe.. Along with my Banjo. Just to warn you.. we will be doing a song or two with banjo and electric guitar together! It's gonna be interesting, but fun to mix genres and sounds! We aim to do it with taste. Too bad we only have four hands, but we make as much beautiful noise with them as we can.
This summer is looking pretty steady, with just Jenny and I to count on each other. We've decided that working on ourselves as a duo will make us much stronger players this year. It was fun with a band, but we just didn't progress as much as we wanted to. When we first got together, we kept dreaming of how good we'll be in five years... Two years in, and we've definitely made some great lengths with our solos, and multi-instrumental abilities. Through it all, our harmonies still kick it out, and that's why we started this gig in the first place. Our album sales are doing ok, but let me know if you need to get a copy of "Don't Ya Know". You can find it on
www.digstation.com
www.cdbaby.com
Just search for Pinky Lee, and we should come right up!
We're not anticipating recording another CD for about 6 months at least, but we do have some great songs lined up for our second album that we play during live shows!
Also in the works.. is a collaboration with Matt Rasch. We are all the voices of "Some Town", a cartoon based on our imaginations and real life characters, although the stories are purely fiction. Hopefully you'll learn a few lessons, or just laugh your butt off.
Thanks so much for listening and coming out to see us. We can't tell you how much that encourages us to keep doing what we're doing, and strive for greatness, no matter what form it may come to us. As long as we keep you interested! Stay Tuned!!!
-Holly
