just a quick reminder that Lorton streets services are available as online audio files here -----> http://www.kcmethodists.org.uk/recordings.htm

the carol concert recording is pretty good i think. and along with all the traditional carols features music from Rob 'D', metalica and John Lennon.

the most recent recording is of the traditional Methodist covenant sevice i led on Sunday. that's worth a listen too. if you like that sort of thing!

Is your intention to allow people who haven't attended the service to feel part of the community or to "stick something out into cyberspace for all to hear"? If it is the first, sounds good, you can really feel part of your own community when you are not there. If it is the latter, have you thought about editing down to the essential bits? Sermon? Sermon and a song? Notices aren't really necessary...

At my old church they kept sticking the choir onto the internet. IMHO a really bad recording of a choir (through one SM58 to the desk) isn't going to set the internet on fire - but they still insisted on doing it...

the main reason is for those who haven't attended to feel part of whats going on. i think we send out between 15 and 20 cds of services out to our house bound members. the podcasting is an extension of this really

Sorry, somehow it posted it twice.

Cool, makes perfect sense. Like I say, if that is what you intend it is perfect. Back when I was a Baptist (the dim and distant past) we used to o the same thing with tapes.
