From the days of the legendary Craig
Kelly Mystery Air to the infamous Tarquin Robbins sawed off shotgun deck, pro
models have always held an esteemed place in snowboarding. Now
SNOWBOARDER is challenging any and all riders with their name adorning a topsheet
to put their money where their signature is with the first annual America’s
Next Top Pro Model.
Windells Snowboard Camp is the place to be July 18th and 19th as two dozen of
snowboarding’s top pros put their pro models through the paces in six
disciplines to determine whose board can’t be beat. On-snow events include
longest railslide, highest ollie, Chinese downhill, spin to win, and biggest
halfpipe air with the contest concluding with a charity auction at the Windells
camper sale to determine the most valuable pro-endorsed deck. According
to Eddie Wall, “Pat Moore spent all winter practicing his blue steel when he
should have been practicing his ollies. I haven’t spent the last ten years
throwing up on hill not to win this. Bring it!” The always eloquent Marc Frank
Montoya was kind enough to lend his competition some advice "They better
bring their pads for the downhill because I'm fierce out there."
TJ Schneider, Eero Ettela, Louie Vito, Pat Moore, Austin Smith, Eddie Wall,
Bryan Fox, Steven Fisher, Peter Line, Scotty Arnold, Marc Frank Montoya, Scotty
Lago, Jesse Burtner, Danny Kass, Lucas Magoon, Jon Kooley, Antti Autti, Gabe
Taylor, Pat McCarthy and others are confirmed to attend.
