wow, we had our first rehearsal in 2 years the other night, and it was refreshing.  we've played here and there in different configurations over the past couple years (we'll put up a list of some of the most unique and memorable shows of the last several years in a forthcoming blog), but there hasn't been much base-level movement in the Barnacled camp in quite some time.  most of us also play together in Alec K. Redfearn and the Eyesores, so it's been a busy time of music, but Barnacled is a different animal/animosity altogether.  we've got some some shows coming up in the summer and fall of 2006, and we're starting with an expanded version of France Attacks, a piece we haven't visited in at least 4 years.  so far so good...it's a challenging bit of music, but it felt right to play it...and much to our surprise, it sounded better than ever.
