In my recent novel To Protect And Serve - The protagonist, Dwayne Brauner is lead by his curiosity into a dark area in Queens, New York, where terrorists are actively stocking buildings.  Gearing up for an assault on the consciousness of the city once again.  Security agencies across the  board were confident the U.S. president's life was threatened by terrorist acts perpetrated in the streets of the cities.  Most public buildings had increased security and constructed barricades and  cement obstructions against truck and car bombs.  The secret service had begun preventing the president Obama from greeting citizens on motorcade routes and protestors  were held controlled in pens and clusters.  Often as far as blocks away from public appearances of the chief Executive; because of the danger of terrorist threats.  The average citizen went about his daily occupation unaware of the intrinsic dangers lingering nearby.

The president had gotten used to  lodging overnight  aboard Air Force One, when visiting a foreign country. Even one as docile as Sweden.  Iran had fired off numerous test missiles, capable of reaching a wide range - also capable of knocking out key U.S. Satellite communications.

As a nation, America had suffered the greatest loss of it's existence with the destruction of the World Trade Center, under the watch of George W. Bush.  Americans everywhere were effected by the devastation.  Many depended on government leadership to rightly divide the proper course of responsive action.  Major cities, including New York, attempted to go on about business as usual, and watched as terrorist acts exploded  round the world.
