thu. feb.17th--we drove through the night to our nation's capital. thanks to everyone at GW's radio station. the show at
dc9 was, how shall i put this...amazing. each band we had the honor to share the bill with were spectacular. the receiver from columbus OH,
someone still loves you boris yeltsin from springfield MO,
catfish haven from chicago, and
these united states from d.c. we love each and every one of them, and each and every one of you who came out and had fun with us on thursday.
fri. feb.18th--the next day saw us arrive in nyc for our show at sin-e. the first band of the evening was
the tender trio, featuring ex-members of spacehog and blind melon. we had the pleasure of following their wonderful set, and also of playing with our friends the bosch, and a + p and the octagon. we also met paul bettany and his wife jennifer connelly. they were there to see their friends in the tender trio and were gracious enough to stay for our set and talk to us afterwards and buy cd's. all in all, a wonderful night in the big apple.
sat. feb.19th--we ventured north out of the city and played an acoustic set at coconuts music in port chester. thanks to everyone of the staff there, they treated us wonderfully. we got back to our roots with an acoustic, no mic performance and met some new friends. thank you.
that is where the good fortunes ended. later that night, somewhere in pennsylvania, one of the trailer tires exploded as we were watching the original dawn of the dead in the van. two hours passed before we got moving again and we landed in harrisburg. we searched the city for replacement tires the next day, and truly lucked out and found two new tires in a little mom and pop place called wal-mart. thank you hyper-consumerism!
don't worry, we made it home safely late sunday night/monday morning. once again, thank you to everyone who came to see us at any of our shows this weekend. stop by and say hello to us when you can.
cheers,
the apparitions
