Ive read so many messed up descriptions of The Human Abstract. The Lambgoat review is retarded. He said it sounded too much like Alaska. What? Ok maybe the sweeps in Mea Culpa are reminiscent of the sweeps in Selkies, but the sweeps in selkies use a different pattern of arpeggios than Mea Culpa. Not to mention 75% of Alaska is straight up technical death metal. There is no death metal to THA.

Then the gauntlet....wow what a terrible review, he says that THA is a mix of screamo and hardcore punk? What the crap are you smoking? Freaking people need to learn about music and how to play an instrument before they evaluate intstrumentalists.

Hello does anyone see the CLASSICAL influence on The Human Abstract. Obviously they know how to play some classical guitar. I havent fully evaluated the chord progressions in the acoustic pieces, but i hear a lot of diminished stuff and it sounds like some secondary dominants and modulation is going on. The guitar work on this album is incredible. I can play anything from any of the popular metal bands today lamb of god, trivium, shadows fall, darkest hour, but the human abstract is something out of my reach right now. The technicality shows so much experience and knowledge in songwriting.

If i had to say THA sounds like anyone it would be Darkest hour meets a more emotionally charged Yngwie Malmsteen, meets baroque classical. THA is my favorite band for a reason, they are pure genius. The sophomore release is going to be unbelievable. I can't wait to see how much these guys progress.

you do know that one of the band members has had musical theory training... hence the classical influences. the guitarwork in the album is incredible.
