On a Sunday afternoon after playing at a late morning event at The Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Kelly's Lot heads to The Cahuenga General Store Recording Studio in North Hollywood. Tired and hungry, the band stops for pastrami sandwiches before getting to the studio. Their friend Scotty Lund has asked Kelly's Lot to come out and jam while he records the session so he can learn the system for future recordings. He hits record from the start and "Pastrami and Jam" is created.
