Wow.  Cold.

They say it's about 60 degrees, but it can't be more than 2.  I think I saw icebergs. OK, it wasn't really that cold, actually very refreshing.  One of the best experiences since being able to experince Austin.  Jenni and I went there with Melanie and Nick.  Cool friends.  Another cool part of the evening was walking along the bank of the springs overhearing the random conversation of the other people there.  Everything from "Oh yeah, she says she doesn't have any money, but then she spends all her money on..." and then there's "How do you even cook tilapia? Oh yeah, tilapia is the way to go. You pan sear it with olive oil and some garlic" to " I'm so glad that generic brands don't come in the black and white packages anymore" then finally " you know what they called Webb? I bet they called him 'Rules'...look at him,  he's the only one with all his clothes on...even suspenders!"  That last one refers to the statue out front...of Webb, Dobie, and Bedichek. Impressive.  So, if you haven't swum there yet, do it.  Take a towell, maybe go when it's really hot outside, or do like us when it's a beautiful summer night.  Either way.   Very worth it.

Brrrr. What a great memory of your first summer in Austin! I understand some people jump in on New Year's Day. Wonder if it feels any warmer on that day? Or if it might be one of those "and nothing worse will happen to you all year long.." kind of things!
thanks for sharing!

Personally, I'm most glad that generic brands don't come in black and white anymore and aren't all lumped together in the generic aisle!

That was a great night! One in a million! One of those great, pre-back-to-school treats. Guess we're just all going to have to do it again!

Glad you guys came over for dinner the other night. How grown up of all of us... small dinner parties and such.
